• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

08 GS SM5 stuck in gear, code P0730 - easy to replace sensor?

Yes, it displayed erratically. When it showed R while riding forward the trike went into limp mode until I went down a gear and back to 5th to get it to display anything but R. Leave the wheel on ground to loosen bolt with a helper applying the brakes. Raise trike and remove lower shock...

Anyone know Goldwing exhaust gaskets in Spyder exhaust longevity?

No-one knows the answer as no-one has ever had to replace them a second time when using the Honda gaskets. Mine have been in the for a dozen years.

08 GS SM5 stuck in gear, code P0730 - easy to replace sensor?

The GP sensor failure on the early trikes was not uncommon. I have an SM5 and had to replace it early on. The drive pulley must be removed to R&R the sensor. Re-torque the pulley bolt to 115ft lb and ideally get a new bolt. AS for the DPS, good luck with that...

Drive Belt Hole - For Info

I've posted this pic of mine when 2 weeks old previously, but here it is again just for fun. A pebble got stuck in the rear pulley and split the full length. An inner belt guard went on soon after replacement.

Need a Rear Shocker for 2012 Spyder RS - any suggestions?

Try this mob too perhaps. They may have cheaper options. https://suspensionsrus.com.au/road-motorcycle/39172-elka-stage-2-rear.html When you say 'collapsed' what actually happened?

Why you should flush your brake fluid properly

Indeed it does. The issue is that BUDS cycles (opens & closes) the tiny solenoid valves, allowing them to be flushed too.

Why you should flush your brake fluid properly

Changing to DOT 5 fluid would be easy. Changing all the rubber components to suit silicone fluid wouldn't be, as they haven't been made for a Spyder.

Why you should flush your brake fluid properly

Like the man says: Ryde More, Worry Less!

Why you should flush your brake fluid properly

No. It can get in thru caliper piston seal and even thru rubber hoses.

Why you should flush your brake fluid properly

One of these is a good thing to have. It eliminates guessing on moisture content. Just put the 2 probes in the fluid, not the whole tip of the pen as the plastic it's made of doesn't like brake fluid - 'go figure.'...

2008 GS ball join replacement (Easy, or a total pain?)

Are you certain it's the ball joints and not the inner A arm bushes - which have to be greased periodically? My GS has 103,000km and the ball joints are fine.

Anyone got details on the Suspension zerks needed to make them easier to use?

The grease nipples are on the inner ends of the A arms. You must remove the frunk for access.

Anyone got details on the Suspension zerks needed to make them easier to use?

6mm thread. I did mine soon after I got it and grease the suspension every service. I hope yours had been greased previously - or the nylon bushes wear quickly.

    How reliable are spyders?

Reliability and quality ain't Spyder's strongest suits. It meets a niche market - folks like you and me. Many folks haven't got what they paid for, many have. Do more research.

Which belt guard is more important - top, or both?

Here's the one I made of sheet metal. It's attached to the lower shocky bolt with a Z shaped bracket on the right and the left side is glued to the swing arm. It's still there after 13 years. I run a 205/55-15 tyre. The slightly narrower tyre give some clearance for the aftermarket inner...

Which belt guard is more important - top, or both?

Get both - it needs em. This was 2 weeks old and before I fitted an inner guard.
