• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dumb question from first time Spyder owner

You're correct sir, I meant to say 245 and that would be bone dry.

Dumb question from first time Spyder owner

I don't think there's a light. I have a 16 and have no light either I just watch my miles and fill up when it's getting down there. For me it's between 200 and 275 for miles to being close to empty.

Mini Easy Accessible Storage for Passenger

I did the same thing with my watercraft. The bag was designed for use on bicycles but I find it perfect for storing my dock line. Easy access and convenient.

Any tips for easier RT battery removal and replacement?

I too struggled with this, here's the method that I found works best. Insert the battery in to the space with the top tilted towards you. Simply tip the battery vertical and it should be in the home position. Connect the cables and you're good. The top clamp is tricky and may take a few tries to...

Well that can't be right... panel fit around the panniers?!

That's gotta be it, cart before the horse. Thanks for the input.

Well that can't be right... panel fit around the panniers?!

Thought I'd throw this out there for those more skilled/experienced than I. Here's the scenario; Took the panels off my 2016 RTS to do some cleaning underneath like dust, oil residue, etc. Put the panels back on in proper sequence but find that the last, bottom screw/fastener doesn't hold. As...

    Gimme A Brake!

Been awhile since I posted last, it's been a long, cold, winter in Wisconsin but I'm getting close to waking the Spyder up from her long winter nap. Here's my question, how can you tell when the brakes need service or replacing? I ask this because last fall I had her in for the annual oil and...

    Epic Spyder Fails

This may get too long for some but I'll try to keep things on track. First, I'm very happy with my Spyder. I had one issue but it was covered by the warranty and nothing since. This is not so much a Fail on my part but the part of the dealer/salesperson I bought it from. Here goes. A couple of...

    Covid Mask Parody

Not much to smile about this summer. Riding my Spyder has been one of the highlights of getting my mind off the Pandemic and the the Riots. But if you're looking for a break from all the negative stuff, click on the link. Something to smile about...

    I didn't think this could happen !!!

No, can't say I've ever had a close call with a chicken. Deer, reckless teenagers, but no chickens. Glad it turned out well!

Just bought a 2014 RT SE6. Few questions

#3 This has happened to me several times. What I found is that I wasn't pressing down hard enough on the brake. It doesn't take a lot of pressure but it is sensitive. As you already know, if you miss one step in the process she ain't gonna go. Good luck with all things Spyder!

Thinking about buying a Spyder RT Limited

I would suggest starting with a cover or covers. I have both the half cover and the full size and use them both depending on the conditions. The covers protect the finish and seat and they also prevent prying eyes if you're traveling and it's parked overnight somewhere. The BRP backrest was...

    BRP Backrest question

I have the same year and model and the seat is definitely different than mine. However, the backrest looks the same as mine. Looks like you've got a mismatch there.

    Keeping rodents out

Couple of thoughts; Make sure there is no food supply in the same building/area. Things like bird seed, corn for the squirrels, etc. Anything that looks like a Free Buffet. Consider getting a cat, they're great hunters and a small tray of cat food and an old blanket next to your Spyder should...

    May's Weather News

Here in Wisconsin for the weekend, the skies are blue and high temps near 60. Planted some early vegetables in the garden, onions and potatoes, the rest will go in after next week. The Spyder is gassed up and is ready for some backroad adventures. Then shish kabobs on the grill when we get home...

    Your First One

Since many of us have made the transition from two wheels to three it may be interesting to know your first motorcycle. Year, make and model would be great, a picture would be even better. I googled the year and make and found this one; 1967 Bridgestone 90 My first cycle around 1970...
