• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My 2011 RT has running rough issues and runs very hot - any ideas?

Make sure you do not have a fuel leak. The fuel lines can go bad and if so, it's a serious fire hazard. Your cat may be clogged. Your brake may be dragging. Simple check. Release the parking brake and see if it rolls. Could be low on coolant, or a sticking thermostat. Or debris in your...

    It's right here.

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

I'll be taking a trip starting this Saturday. So I won't have a chance to post again until I get back. #4 - Building of the 'Stump Buster'. I decided that I’d like to build my own log splitter. I figured that with the combination of my ideas, and Lamont’s fabrication skills, we could make one...

Is it OK to run a Kenda KR20 rear with the original front Kendas?

The KR20 will work just fine with any front set of tires. Unless you are running very bad front tires, they will always have more traction than the rear.

Buying a new helmet - who replaces them every 5 years per manufacturers spec??

Helmets tend to reduce the severity of injuries in a bad crash. They don't necessarily prevent them.

Buying a new helmet - who replaces them every 5 years per manufacturers spec??

That's definitely doing it the hard way!~

Buying a new helmet - who replaces them every 5 years per manufacturers spec??

According to the industry... Studies have shown that the EPS foam used in helmet does not degrade with age under normal circumstances. And can remain effective for decades. Of course the helmet's outer shell and other components such as latches, straps, etc., are part of the equation as well...

Buying a new helmet - who replaces them every 5 years per manufacturers spec??

Helmet warranties can vary, just like everything else. I have been dealing in Arai helmets since 1998. Their warranty is 5 years from the date of purchase, up to a total of 7 years. So if you purchase a brand new Arai helmet that is up to 2 years from manufacture, then you get the full 5 year...

Has anybody put Elka Stage II shocks on a 2021 RTL? Spring down, or up?

Yes, we have the same possible issue with our shocks. BRP changed the clearance in 2020 and later models. The spring comes closest to the lower edge of the A-Arm plastic beauty panel. The underside can be trimmed away (carefully) without affecting the visible, upper portion. And therefore, the...

Has anybody put Elka Stage II shocks on a 2021 RTL? Spring down, or up?

Nitrogen filled shocks can be mounted either direction. The main reason (other than access to adjustments) is that you want to reduce Unsprung Weight. Which is the total mass or weight of a vehicle's components that are not supported by the suspension system, including the wheels, tires, axles...

Be careful of advice... Never Grease your Sway Bar bushings!

All of us have been 'Wrong' from time to time. That definitely includes me. I intend to reveal a huge, stupid mistake on my part in the "Lamonster Chronicles" thread at some point. Not that I enjoy admitting to my blunders. But it's something that we both remember vividly, and Lamont forgave me...

Will the Canyon front shocks fit on a 2021 RT?

I have not researched this at all. But it is very unlikely that Canyon shocks would be a good idea. Especially the Red Rock version. Even if a shock is correct in body dimensions and eye to eye length. There is so much more to a shock that is not taken into account with these parameters...

Be careful of advice... Never Grease your Sway Bar bushings!

Be careful of advice... Never Grease your Sway Bar bushings!

A customer stopped in at the Maggie Valley Rally complaining that their sway bar, having been installed by their dealer, began clunking after a few hundred miles. I was in the midst of explaining to him that if the bushings are not properly tightened, the install will be fine at first, but as...

#3 - Noah's Arc Welding My memory is somewhat less than perfect. Not to mention that we all see things a bit differently. So, I ask that you forgive any shortcomings with these stories. As I’ve already said, Lamont spent some time working for the construction company, FRITZ NACHANT, in San...

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

Tires are almost like computers these days. Where the new one you just purchased is outdated a few weeks later. Not quite that bad. That's why I'm always looking for a better product. With the latest issue getting Vredesteins (could be a tariff issue, I don't know), I've been trying other...

Anyone running PPA wheels with aftermarket car tires?

We've got customers running PPA wheels and the 165/60R15's on later model Spyders. But as we've read here, clearance issues are still a possibility. If you're prepared to make them work with the necessary minor modifications, then you should be fine. But I think it very likely that won't be...

20,000 miles and still have OEM front tires

It's more likely to be the 'Where' these dimensions were taken. Could be another location on the tire carcass that is the difference.
