• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    My brake wear history

Until I ran into this thread, didn't realize I was too old to be riding. Wife and I didn't take our usual 2800-3000 mile trip this year because I ended up with jury duty. Bummer. Had to settle for a week in N.H.with the camper and some short trips. Even got up on Mt. Washington. Oh yeah!! Age...

HowTo: Replacing the start button on my 2014 RT saved me $500

Great solution. I tend to do this sort of DIY. One suggestion: A step drill works great for holes like that in plastic. Well worth acquiring.

Test rode a new Harley Tri-Glide

Sold my 03 Goldwing trike and acquired a 2015 RTS. So far, with limited time on the Spyder, I like the easier steering and the semi-auto tranny. I have bad shoulders and arthritic hands. It helps both.:ohyea:

How I nearly died on vacation!!!!

Mike and I both live in what can be called "tourist destinations" . At this time of year, the uptick in traffic creates many interesting situations. One has to be extra cautious. Yesterday I had an outlander pull a u turn in front of me and oncoming traffic that had me inhaling sharply. I...

When and where was the first time you rode a Can-Am tryke ??

Like several others here, I never drove one until I bought it. Drove around the dealers lot 3-4 times to get a feeling for the handling and headed out. After 4-5 miles on city streets got on the Interstate and headed home. No problems. I think riding snowmobiles in another life helped. I find...

Shift lever stripped out..... again! What's causing it to re occur?

Hey guy. Sorry to hear about the bypasses. Now the words of encouragement. I had a triple by-pass in April 2004. 6 weeks later I was able to take a ride on my 1500. Not very far and my wife was PO'd but never the less, a ride. Didn't do any touring that year but rode around. Since then all has...

USB charge cable for heli bars. Has anyone even seen a cable like this?

Haven't checked for that specific length but I know Amazon has longer cables. I do know they make a Garmin cable 11.5 ft so I would think standard USB would be available. After reading I wasn't totally clear. What I was trying to say was that all different sizes seem to be available.:gaah:

How long to do Skyline and Blue Ridge from Front Royal to Roanoke?

True. And some of the roads on and off the BRP are worth a shout. Such as 256, 215, 43, 80. In fact most of them are interesting.

How long to do Skyline and Blue Ridge from Front Royal to Roanoke?

Yep, Skyline is Federal. BRP is free. If are old enough the Golden Passport,( not sure what they call it now) is one time fee and good for all national parks. I have saved a fortune.

What parameters are changed when riding 2 up?

Hadn't thought about changes to the bike based on 1 or 2 riders. There definitely is added input from the rear seat when I am riding 2 up. Sometimes a well phrased input or even occasionally a "tap" on the helmet. :roflblack::lecturef_smilie:
