• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How long does the Factory Belt Tensioner last by miles?

If you have a vibration dampener on your bike, I would give it check at least every oil change and twice before a big trip, because when it goes, it is not a mileage thing at all - when the bearings are going to leave the chat, they will leave!!! Like others have said above, carry some zip ties...

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

A dab of dielectric grease on those plugs keeps the gremlins out!!!

My upgraded ST-S headlights and fog lights with LED

I can tell you from my experience after changing over the lights on a 2012 RTL it's a little on the tight side to get your hands down in there and get the bulb in place on the bike! If I was to do it again, I would take the nose right off all together and have all kinds of room to work and you...

    Canyon Carving on a Canyon

I would love to take one for a 200-mile toot down the road!! Wish there was a place to rent one for the day!

28k Service - I must rant about my experience

It's human nature to want the latest and greatest technology, heck I had a perfectly good running 2012 RTL, sold it to my brother-in-law and got a 2025 S2S, we are both happy campers! Working on these machines weather old or new are the same, you just need the parts, whether it's BRP's, parts...

    FS: Spyder RT parts

I can tell you that if you're only seeing a small amount of oil around that shaft of that shock, that is very normal, especially after a rebuild. If you have a great amount of oil, then the seal or shaft has an issue. Good luck, hope you're not getting out of the sport all together!!

28k Service - I must rant about my experience

There are a whole lot of things you can do without BUDS, I kept a 2012 on the road without it, and plan on keeping this new one the same way! I really don't think BUDS has anything to do with it; they just don't want to do a little leg work and search for the parts! It's a way to sell NEW...

    2012 RT with unknown issue - won't go into gear; P0504, C1183, & PO61E - anyone else?

You say the linkage is moving, but is the shifting shaft going into the transmutation moving! The linkage has been known to strip the teeth off because it's alum, and the shaft is steel, and it will just spin and not move the shaft. Good luck!!

28k Service - I must rant about my experience

The biggest down fall of what we are all facing is that we don't have enough YOUNG hands that want to work in the trades and get their hands dirty!! There is good money for anyone out there that wants to learn the trade. And like Blue stated, the way some of these shops operate is unbelievable...

NEW oil leak 2016 RT - anyone recognize it/know what it is from?

Oh, heck check your oil filter cap!! ;) The trouble with the RT is that with the engine wrapped up like a cocoon a drop of oil down in the belly pan will go anywhere. Like said above, if it keeps on dripping you are going to have to open that side of the bike and do a little snooping around! If...

Prepping for the ultimate riding season - have I missed anything?

There are all kinds of riding in Tenn, and NC, that is a great place to get your sea legs on turns and using your gas and brakes!!! Check out his shock package, I don't think you'll be disappointed!!

Fuel Gauge Quit, still shows Empty after filling - any ideas what's happened?

Some people had troubles after they installed Magic Mirrors to get rid of the crappy spring clamps they used to have! The magnets would mess the gauge up because they were too close, that's what I ran into. I loved the magnets more than the gauges, so I went digital, I think they were more...

They put a good brake on them now, back in the day not so much! Now if they would work on the suspension! Something a little more adjustable!

How I fixed my Twitchy brakes!

I had ridden an RTL for a few years before I went to a open house at one of the local dealerships and did a test ride on a Ryker. Wow, what a little rocket! And yes, with it not weighing very much, it was VERY responsive to hand guidance, you can very easily over steer those things! They are...

2010 RTS - unexplained quitting fixed & some Engine mods.

Well, to check for cracked boots, you can take some carb cleaner or starting fluid and LIGHTLY spritz it around the boots while the engine is running and see if you get an rpm change!

Rear brake caliper piston will not fully retract any ideas? Or just rebuild &/or replace?

I went through this brake gremlin with a friends RT, Ural is his BEST bet, BRP really wasn't much help! Ural uses the same brake assembly on their bikes today that we use on the older style bike we have! There's really not very much inside that brake assembly that can go wrong, except the screw...
