• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Time for new rear tire

That's what I found when switching to a 205/65 and no noticeable difference in performance.

My fav tool for limited spaces.

I found a tool with a bit different approach but to the same end, here: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/S/vse-vms-transcoding-artifact-us-east-1-prod/v2/a954a22c-cc1e-550d-b58d-3f6de6b5f1cd/ShortForm-Generic-480p-16-9-1409173089793-rpcbe5.mp4

Want to get new front tires, not sure what to get? 2021 RTL

Speed is read at the rear tire so changing size of the front has no effect on speedometer. I've got 175/55 on the front and they fit nicely under the fender.

    Palindromes; anyone else track them?

ya, I feel like it adds something to any ride; not just the boring ones. I try to get pictures of all of them along with big milestones like 10K moments of silence where I try to stop for that moment as a sign of thanks for making another 10K all in one piece. I've observed 48 of those now...

    Palindromes; anyone else track them?

I'm somewhat of a numbers geek and regularly track things like palindromes as they appear on the odometer. Here is one I saw yesterday along with a couple of views where it occurred. :f_spider:

A question or two for those who carry firearms on them when riding

I carry everywhere it is legal to do so in Texas and everywhere else. Why? There is one main reason; because, like accidents, you can never predict when and where you might need a firearm to protect yourself or others. There are those who say just call 911 but with current response time in...

Your Weather News @ April Edition 2023

5PM yesterday it was 80° currently 30° :yikes: nothing like a 50° drop in 12 hours.

RT 2010-2019 - When your rear aquaplanes which way does your RT Swing?

Neither; I'm smart enough to slow down when conditions dictate.

Those of you that Concealed Carry on your Spyder, what type of holster do you use?

Due to wearing full Cordura gear; IF I carried, it would be in a lightweight nylon shoulder rig on my left side and a double magazine pouch on the right.

    Short jaunt around the lake

Ya, even our small-town pharmacist here says to get it but in the next breath said there was no way in #3ll he would take the experimental one being pushed on everyone.

    Short jaunt around the lake

I would highly recommend everyone getting the shingles vaccine. Mine began last Memorial Day with what I thought was a spider bite just behind my right arm pit. As the rash began to spread, we still thought it was showing the symptoms of a spider bite so was treating it as such. By the time I...

    Short jaunt around the lake

For the first time in a good while, I felt like getting out late in the day. I'm still battling postherpetic neuralgia (residual condition of shingles) that's had me pretty much side-lined late in the day most of the time since last July. Yesterday was the best I've felt in a very long time, so...

What bike did you ride to get your motorcycle license ??

First time in 1968 on a '64 Honda 90 Street. That was at age 14 to get a hardship license so I could get to and from work on a local farm. Second time in 2000 after having let the first one lapse/expire in about 1980 was on a Honda Rebel 250 borrowed from a friend. Neither instance was much...

What's your 2022 RTL getting for gas mileage?

330 miles would equate to 47mpg from completely full to bone dry. I am very skeptical that even at 35mph a Spyder would get that kind of mileage.

Heated grips — do they work if the Spyder is idling?

I haven't dissected a set of Spyder grips, but if they are anything like motorcycle heated grips, it will naturally take a little time for you to feel the warmth. That's because the heating element is under the rubber grip, and it just takes a few minutes for the heat to conduct through that...
