• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyders in the Hills

I am glad you folks enjoyed the rally. A lot of people worked hard for you to have a good time. I hope to see you next October. Spread the word when you get home. :spyder2:

    The End is Near

Spyders in the Hills rally in Boerne, TX. starts tomorrow. 175 Spyders expected. Low 50, high 85 but a little cooler in the hills. :spyder2:

    Spyders in the Hills

A nice ride is for you to take Hwy 46 west off IH10 at Seguin, TX and head on over to Boerne. You beat the San Antonio traffic and see some nice back country. When you get to Main Street in Boerne, turn right and go up a mile to Johns Road, turn left for a mile and you run into the rally at the...

    GoPro Mount

I hate to correct you, but Austin is near Boerne, TX, (ha ha) home of the Spyder rally Oct. 19-21. We are 20 miles NW of San Antonio on IH10W, actually about 80 miles SW of Austin. We are somewhat concerned about the number of Spyders showing up. What to do with 175+ Spyders riding in our...

Spyder RT verses Goldwing.. We're confused

As you see below, I have a '02 Wing, triked with a Motor Trike kit in '05. Mr. Cognac is a '14 Ltd with a comfort seat and trunk brake light. I had a sway bar on my '11 and could not tell much difference. I ride my Wing often and love it. It is a brute compared to Mr. C, and Mr. C is...

Download a Google map to my 660

Thanks for the inputs. Yes, I wish to download a Google route to my 660. A friend I ride with lays out our routes for our rides each Saturday on Google. His method of downloading the route from Google to my laptop/GPS does not work with AOL (I know, poor at best). His maps are accompanied by...

Download a Google map to my 660

I need help in learning how to download a Google map to my Garmin 660. I have Base Camp and map source (not supported by Garmin anymore I think). Base Camp seems very complicated to me. I know there is a video on how to use it but seems to be a pain..... Any easier way to download a map...

    Riding in Cool/Cold Weather

While my group, The Hill Country Road Riders, ride 12 months a year, my pain thresh hold now is 40 degrees. The cold seems to bother me more as I get older. I have ridden with them @ 27 once, but it was too cold. Most have electric jackets and certainly heavy clothing. The good part about...

Need advice about electric vest and how to...

I have a Gerbing battery operated jacket. It works great and a full charge lasts about seven hours. Need more change out the battery. I can use it when I am on my tractor and out in the back forty, not tied to the bike. I have had plug in jackets but the battery is much better because of...

    Yes, exactly. :spyder2:

I'm lucky to be alive to tell this story.......

As I putt along on Mr. Cognac, I scan the vehicles ahead and those entering the road. I don't look at the drivers, I look at the front tire of the vehicle. If it is moving, be aware. A driver will look you in the eye and pull out in front on you. Watch out for those old folks...... :yes...

    Touring San Antonio

So many roads, so little time. Get up early, don't eat, take Hwy 16 west out of S.A. to Bandera. Eat breakfast of the Old Spanish Trail cafe (OST) Hwy 16 and main street. Continue on 16 to Medina, turn left on Hwy 337 to Hwy 187, turn right 2-3 miles, turn left on 337 again. You are in...

    Never knew this about reverse

True, but I only back out of a parking spot so 1 mph is okay with me. 9 mph could be a little much in some circumstances. :spyder2:

    Helmet impact zones

I am not sure where a helmet would do the most good on a Spyder vs. a two wheeler, but I don't wish any part of my face/head damaged. I got rear ended at a stop sign in 2001 on my '95 Wing. The policeman brought my helmet and other stuff to my home and told my wife how lucky I was wearing a FF...

    How to CB

I have a BRP CB on Mr. Cognac and also on my Wing. As said, the CB info will show up on the dash if you have one installed. You can remove the right rear panel and see if a little black box it there....that would be the CB. I ride with a group, 15 or more sometimes. I sweep and the lead has...

    HURRICANE HARVEY

    Stopping distance-close call

When I ride with my group, The Hill Country Road Riders, we ask the two wheelers to ride up front followed by our Spyders. This is due to the stopping ability of a Spyder vs. a two wheeler. The two wheelers understand this and appreciate it. If a two wheeler goes down, there is a very good...

Where are the so called Supporting Forum Vendors?

Welcome. I suggest you add the year and model of your Spyder and then list the parts you look for. There are many good reliable vendors here and you can get a lot of help on this site. :spyder2:

New Spyder Owner here with a million dollar question

I would wait. Some have vibration, some don't. You can see how it goes and add them later when you return to the dealer for oil change or ? I haven't added anything to Mr. Cognac as he seems okay as is. Enjoy your new ride. :spyder2:
