• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Ethanol

THIS... I can't tell you how many times I've had to pull the carb on my lawn mower to replace the fuel pump bladder due to ethanol... and that is with adding stabilizer and winterizing each year. I need to do this sometimes once a year, but generally every two seasons.. Finally found a source...

    Ethanol

Ethanol is only an issue when storing your spyder. I haven't noticed a difference when running ethanol laced gas or ethanol free. The only thing ethanol free gets you is slightly better mileage. That add in chemical does not remove the ethanol... It just stabilizes it. If you ride a lot or go...

    Going to a car tire

As someone already pointed out, the Kenda is made in China. There are probably some car tires made in the U.S. that will hopefully fit the Spyder. That is your call. My trailer tires for my toy hauler are also made in Thailand. They are the best ten ply tires currently on the market. I would...

    Going to a car tire

I ran the Kumho. Does it wear better? Not by much. I got only 1000 more miles out of it as compared to the Kenda... But I ride pretty hard. Others have seen a mileage bump out of the Kumho. It does wear evenly across the tread though. That said, and I think this is important. The Kumho was...

    Stopped by Sheriff Deputy

My Spyder in theory is illegal from a light perspective in most states. I have the factory fogs and added Motolights down on the A arms. They are 55 watts each and yellow. I've never been pulled over, but I do recognize that with all 6 lights going I can be a bit too bright at night. Those laws...

SMOKING DEALS on 2013's right now

Perhaps this promo by BRP is a good indicator of what is to come for the ST in September? Maybe the 1330? Dealers probably don't want to be stuck with inventory again.

2014 rear tire replaced at 6666

The irony is my ten ply trailer tires I bought for the toy hauler are Maxxis and made in Taiwan. I can't find a quality radial ten ply anywhere under a US brand, much less made in the U.S.A.... Know what? Those Maxxis are considered the best by many so go figure.

    New Air Filter

Valid concern... But... My dealer, nor has any other dealer I've had any service done cared about my intake or other mods.

    New Air Filter

YES>.. I do. :) Problem in the short term is whether I want to do that on my ol'GS or wait and do it on a new ST with the 1330 in it.

    New Air Filter

I've been running the kewl metal in my GS for 20k miles and it hasn't bothered it at all. I notice a bit of crappy running on very hot humid days when caught at lights, but I had that with the airbox too. Main reason I went with the intake was to make getting in and doing maintenance easier and...

SpyderFest 2014: Friends, Fun, Food, DragRacing and a "New Clutch"

There was a reason I asked. They took very good care of Dan too. ;)

Test drove a 2014 RT "OMG"

I also rode an RT for the first time at Spyderfest... The Brakes are tremendous!... I can't stop thinking about them. The motor sounds like a city bus around town with the stock exhaust. Kinda funny. That 1330 has a lot of low end grunt... I think the 998 has a little more pull at the high...

SpyderFest 2014: Friends, Fun, Food, DragRacing and a "New Clutch"

Ben, Glad they got you fixed up fast. Did they charge you? Just curious. Dan, the other Dan I mean - with the Blue 2012 RT in the bank lot that night... Had his clutch act up (SM5) dragging me at the strip then it seemed to clear up. The next day on Friday we went down RT 125 and on the way...

    Tires....a.g.a.i.n

I have been using the Toyo Proxes 4 which have been discontinued. I love that tire so much I just bought the last 3 that I could find in a warehouse...There are some new ones on eBay that I found as well.

    Tires....a.g.a.i.n

That really depends on the tire and how you ride. That stock rear balloons at highways speeds and wears fast in the middle. Car tires have more plys and don't balloon as much if all. The Toyo car tire I have on the rear I expect to last a little bit longer than the stock Kenda and it holds the...

    LOOKING FOR SOMEONE

DocRiverside and a friend of mine. Send me your info via PM and I'll send it on to Dave(Doc). Not sure how often he is on here as of late. Great guy and his wife is a sweetie and bakes me cookies. Seriously. :)

    Tires....a.g.a.i.n

I'm on my second car tire for the rear and about to go car tires in the front. I won't be going back to stock. The car tires have been better wearing, but specifically the one I have on the rear now blows away the stock rear in dry, wet, and standing water traction. I have stayed with the...

    Riding in rain?

I get pretty went in rain on my RS and that is with the large touring shield. I think if I had side deflectors or baker air wings, that would help in a light rain...During sprinkles it is mostly my hands and knees getting went.
