• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    VCM Code C1290

If I remember correctly, the OEM batteries are usually good for two years, right? If so, that would put me at about 30 months. I think I'll start to price batteries and find out who has them in stock. Can you recommend any brand or chemistry of battery?

    VCM Code C1290

Here is what I recorded: 12.31v sitting in the garage after 24 hours since last run. 12.01v with the ignition on, engine not running. 13.31v engine at idle with 5 bars on temp guage and radiator fan on. 14.00v engine running at 3500 rpms also with fan on.

    VCM Code C1290

Ok, thanks for the info. Unfortunately, customers are not allowed in the service area so I have no idea what was done to followup on that code. Since my bike has the original battery, I asked the person behind the counter if the battery was tested. He went to ask the tech and was told that the...

    VCM Code C1290

Hi everybody! I had my Spyder's 4600 mile maintenance done yesterday and the tech pulled this code "C1290" from the bike. He aslo said it happened a while ago since it was in the bike's "history". I did a search on SL but did not turn up anything. Does anyone have any information on this code...

4600 mile maintenance Well, I had my 4600 mile maintenance performed today at Team Mancuso Powersports Southwest. Earlier in this thread, I posted my thoughts and reservations about this dealer from a previous visit. I can tell you now that things appear to have changed. Regarding the service...

Dealerships My spyder was purchased from Team Mancuso Southwest. I don't care to go there for anything (unless I have to) because: 1) The service department treated me like I was invisible and when I did get someone's attention behind the service counter, he looked at me like I was the root...

I have an RS that was made in the latter half of 2010. For your prospective bike, make sure it had the DPS recall performed and the new gas cap installed. Also, check that the vent hose on the evaporator canister has been re-routed farther away. From what I have learned, about halfway through...

    I spotted an imposter!

Follow-up I stopped by the powersports place that is selling this bike. The name on the bike is "Venom". Did not see a manufacturer, but looks the same as the one in the link posted earlier in this thread. A saleslady told me that they are asking $5000.00, that it has a 300cc engine, and...

    I spotted an imposter!

I was running errands the other day and saw this perpetrator in a parking lot. It looks like a poor copy at best. I see in the closeup that it is chain-driven. I'm thinking about paying the dealer a visit and asking some questions about it. Maybe take some better pictures of it while I'm there...

Any tricks or mods to cool an RSS SE5 a little?

Get the Spyderpops stuff! I have the missing air dam, air management system and heat shield installed on my bike. I can tell you the air management system makes all the difference! A small amount of hot air does slip past the deflector, but it is not bothersome to me. During the cooler/cold...

    Missing Air Dams

Missing air dam I have it as well as the air management and heatshield installed on my spyder. I feel the air dam does help air flow through the radiator instead of around it. It seems that I have not gone over 6 bars after it was installed with 5 being the average. I would suggest that if you...
