• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SpyderCodes no longer available for new downloads

Apps What am I missing? I thought the new dash system pulled apps off the phone, at least in part. Thus, you would have access to apps of your own choosing via "BRP Connect" and not just the restricted set they provide. Am I wrong? Thanks for the input ..... Ann

    PTT CB Issue

My CB Saga I vote for BOTH bad dealer and questionable BRP product quality (bad, right out of the box). See this thread for my woes -- still ongoing, still not fixed (although I no longer have to deal with the bad dealer)...

    2018 RT Limited

CB on 2018 RT From my experience with the BRP CB, I would NOT touch it with a 10 foot pole. Any future Spyder I might buy (be it RT or F3) will have the following set up in it. Since BT is now integrated into the radio, I am almost positive this will work (this is the configuration for my...

    2018 RT Limited

AJ .. thank you for correcting me. Made the error of reporting this second (maybe third) hand ..... I will correct my post.

    I'M FED UP

Bad Dealers and BRPCare Oh man ... this sounds all too familiar when it comes to my CB woes. The 2016 RT Ltd is a dream, the CB ... not so much and if you have been following any of my posts on the subject, you will know that my (now former) dealer damages the bike every time they do anything...

    Test Ride a TriGlide

Still Smiling! It was FUN!:2thumbs: Mind you, I have not ridden a motorcycle with a clutch in nearly 25 years ... quit in 1993 (after my accident on 2). This was a guided ride and I know I can take a TriGlide out from RRHD any time if I want more time in the saddle. The ride was about 30...

    Test Ride a TriGlide

The local HD shop, Red River Harley Davidson, has an open house and demo days today and tomorrow. Most Saturdays, this shop also buys burgers and hotdogs / sausages for local charities to cook up for donations -- their weekly "Burger Burn". Our Legion Riders chapter from Post 202 in Wichita...

6-Speed Manual Marginalized in 2018 lineup

Different Controls Back in the late 1970's, I dated a guy that had broken his left hand and it was going to be a LONG recovery. He also did his own custom work on his bikes and selected a Suzuki from the stable to modify for his needs. Moved the clutch to the right hand .... yes, and kept...

Harley Mistake CORRECTIION: I am mistaken in the statement about the ability to download maps or routes to the HD integrated GPS. It is possible to do so -- subsequent posts in this thread say I am wrong. Will leave this here, with the correction. Sorry to pass along bad information ...

    2018 RT Limited

GPS -- BRP Connect From what I was able to gather on the FB feeds, the GPS is integrated into the console now and using a new setup called BRP Connect, one now has access to several apps (motorcycle focused). One of the apps is called REVER -- it is one of the better route planners out there...

Why Did You Buy A Spyder?

Accidents We bought our first Spyder, a demo 2012 RT Limited, in September of 2012 .... I had been looking at them for about a year as hubby had started riding again in 2010, was in an accident in January 2012, and was limping around on a "not healed" leg (it was horrible to watch). Also, I...

CB Trouble AGAIN -- VENT and Dealer BLACK EYE

OK -- Latest UPDATE First I will answer questions from the last post -- thank you Steve, for the information: These are "plug and play" devices from Spyderpops, so they have power bridges that plug in between the turn signals and the Spyder. Not so much louder or change in pitch, it just...

CB Trouble AGAIN -- VENT and Dealer BLACK EYE

UPDATE: More Testing -- More Questions We decided to take a crack at a couple of additional tests, as follows: Knowing there is a ground harness, we decided to see if we could ground the antenna by creating a cable that ran from the antenna ground to the ground lug on the battery (where the...

    Never forget this date

Nor will I .... on that very day, 16 short years ago, I was involved in an actual Disaster Recovery "exercise" with my employer. We simulate a disaster and see if we can recover the system within the specified 24 hour window from backups that are stored at a secure location. When these...

    iPod Issues

Yes ... mine cuts out at random. When it does, I see USB on the console and if I switch to the audio section "no device" ... then it comes back on. I have even gone so far as to tie the BRP and Apple USB cables together with a loop of leather (so it can't vibrate loose). This all started...

CB Trouble AGAIN -- VENT and Dealer BLACK EYE

Additional Testing Thanks again for all the information ... we have undertaken additional testing; as follows: Functional test -- took a long ride and the static on receive is still so bad that I cannot understand a word that is said; transmit still okay. And, yes, it is the same static I...

CB Trouble AGAIN -- VENT and Dealer BLACK EYE

Credit Well .... I can't take all the credit for "persistence, tenacity, and diplomacy" .... I have a nasty temper and it has taken years of practice, as well as some solid advice from hubby (spydercowboy / hogcowboy) to get to the point where I can see things through without killing...

CB Trouble AGAIN -- VENT and Dealer BLACK EYE

Functional test performed today -- and I was right the rhythmic static overrides the ability to receive without static..... BUT, only if I am moving. If I am sitting still I have about 1/2 to 3/4 mile transmit and receive ability with decent clarity (about as good as it was before the...
