• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Shout out! - to Harvey & SpyderPops!

+1 for Spyderpops! An order I placed 25 August went awry due to an apparent error by their shipping agent (not Spyderpops error). After being misplaced, investigated, and found by UPS the shipment was returned to Spyderpops, who are reshipping to me. UPS was a pain to deal with, but...

    BRP dumping Connect???

While true, this can likely be defeated by feeding the video output into a screen driver that understands the smaller screen. Touch-screen control would be harder to bypass....

How long on your original Battery? What did you replace it with??

Batteries last as long as batteries last, and fail without warning. Simple techniques like regular riding, use of a tender, keeping connections clean and tight MAY improve longevity, but your battery will fail. Regular load test during scheduled service might offer warning, but that eventual...

Age of riders buying a Ryker

Bought my RTL in May. My wife drove it once and said “I want one! I want the smaller one!” We bought her 900 ACE last month. She’s 56 and loves it.

2014 RT SE6 with no spark - any ideas?

I don’t think you’ve confirmed no spark yet. Have you pulled a plug and held it to ground while cranking?

2020 RTL looking for a rear trunk luggage rack with style.

I have the showchrome tube style. Perfect fit to the dimples in the trunk lid, tapered washers to match the angle of the trunk. I find the tube style more flexible when bungee cording odd shapes like Tankie, my tail gunner....

Messed up - intermittent warning lights?

Intermittent problems with the dash signals always triggers my “check the battery” reflex. I’d clean the battery connections and tighten securely. If the issue persists after that have the battery load tested. If that’s fine, then you’ve got some code checking research to do, but eliminate the...

    Rain riding

Rode 340 km yesterday in what could charitably be described as heavy rain. Had to get home for work today. Me on my RTL, spouse on her Ryker. Stops every 100km or so for hot tea, and fuel. The machines had no problem with it and, as long as we kept the speed down and drove responsibly, neither...

Our first real road trip to Gander NL

St. John’s NL to Gander NL yesterday, 350km. We’re rolling it up in 150km chunks bc I’m not fully confident of the fuel range on spouse’s Ryker yet. Roll 150, stop for gas and tea, roll 150 seems to work for us. Spending today rolling around the Gander area. Getting home tomorrow should be...

    Help with a major quandary

My ‘20 RTL is a highway couch. Swing the leg over, lean back and ride. Endless leg room with the 20” boards to move around, stay comfortable. I added a rider backrest bc I feel more ‘attached’ to the machine with something against my back. When I go on group rides at fuel stops most want to...

You’d get that much variation from having a couple of quarters under one of your tires. Just my $0.50 opinion.
