• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Next generation 2017 tilting model

Really? Pushback on fixing the Spyder's one and most significant flaw? A leaning Spyder, should be built. I ride a snowmobile every winter all winter, for the past 20 years, and I strongly feel the Spyder's on real flaw is it leaning the wrong way. I love my Spyder, but it acts like a...

RS Owners with Corbin Fleetliner Saddlebags Question

They are big, roomy well made, oddly shaped, somewhat heavy, an not easily removable. I rented a Spyder with them.

    HMF exhaust

Probably a post for the RT forum...... I'm not so sure you'd want a pipe on that engine, the RSS uses the twin, and the RT the triple, so depending on what you are after...... The RSS sounds awesome because the booming nature of the large V-Twin, when I rode a Spyder with the triple, well, I...

    HMF exhaust

Not sure where my other reply went, but.... The HMF pipe is loud, no two ways about it. Probably the best sounding, and it is awesome. On the highway, for extended distances, it requires ear plugs..... But it helps immensely with other drivers being aware of you, sounds amazing, and is cheap...

    Tire Question

Try $800 out the door FOR ONE REAR TIRE at Winnipeg's only Spyder rip-off shop. I took the wheel to the local Harley dealer, $25 installation, $150 delivered for a Kenda tire. Still had to go the dealer who charged me $200 to R&R the wheel. So it really depends on the scruples of the local dealer.

    2014 RSS

Both OEM backrests have the Top Box option Both OEM backrests have the Top Box option, and they both of them are primo quality items that justify the cost, and preserve the lines and look of the bike. No offense to the fans of other backrests, but most of them look like cheapness. I'd rather...

    Weight differences

I'm fairly certain it's a reporting error I looked into this and there may be a weigh difference, but it is not 100#

    Riding tips

I'm not sure about others, but my Spyder RSS starts to lose traction before lifting a wheel when riding solo. However, I shift my weight inward, otherwise hard cornering feels like trying to hold on to a merry go round going to fast.

    Riding tips

Ride it like a snowmobile, knee toward the inside front tire, one butt cheek off the seat makes it all work nicely. Don't chop the throttle open, when boogying, it will pick up an inside wheel. Land have fun!

Pass on the comfort seat.... Unless you want mine. I am not impressed with mine. It looks bitchin though.

Badly slipping clutch on 2011 RSS SM5

I'm not sure I still have the piece I found, but it was approximately an M4 threaded piece 1/4" long, may have been a set screw, I have the pic of the magnet and screw, but don't know how to post it from my iPhone.

Badly slipping clutch on 2011 RSS SM5

Thanks for the replies..... 2 comments..... 1 - Oil tank came from dealer with a magnet plug from brand new. 2 - And this is not anything resembling a bit of clutch slip (I've had that on a bike before, and 1 car). We are talking barely able to pass on the highway kinda slipping. But..... As...

Badly slipping clutch on 2011 RSS SM5

7000 miles, mostly highway. Oil in the case is 50/50 BRP oil change kit oil / Valvoline motorcycle oil 10W40, due to an oil change "incident". I've ridden over 1200 hard miles, lots of WOT (carving twisties last weekend), and suddenly today, going down the highway, I give it maybe 1/2 throttle...

RS rider takes the F3 for a demo ride.

If I had rented an F3, I wouldn't own a Spyder Seated in the birthing position, listening to a droning 3 cylinder, and feeling like I looked like I was trying to hard, filling fans howling like a jet engine..... I just really don't care for them either. I personally find the lightweight twin...

Two up riding on the RS-S

The Bajaron sway bar is a nice upgrade. But I found that I had to disconnect the passenger sensor, as the nanny would slam the brakes on when riding quickly. The result of that is that I can lift a wheel a few inches off the ground before it shuts me down. Never feels like a big deal, as anyone...

Another tire thread!!! For RS not RT

Well that sounds boring! 5250 miles and my rear tire is INTO the last set of wear bars.:yikes: I already got a kumho. The cost of fun I suppose! A good amount of miles for 3 months of ownership, what a damn fun machine.

    Backrest New style added ...

Agreed. I thought it was a no go, but after trying it a dozen times, I loosened a tail light and it went in okay on my RS.

    DEAD SPYDER

Boosting a dead battery takes a while, gotta connect it and let it run for a while. Too bad it ain't an SM, you could push start it easily, which is what I did for a week.

Do the new Side panels really cool the ST or RS?

Haha - True. And in hot weather the stupidly noisy cooling fans are a bit much. (Since we are discussing cooling).

    SM VS SE

Oh ya...... When my non-current / new 2011 had battery issues, I was able to easily able to bump start it with just me pushing.
