• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    SM VS SE

So I am asking too much for the older (RT) owners to know where they are at any given time? >insert stereotype here< Umkay. And who's going to jump down the guys throat who said you can run under 3k RPM on the SE? Lol.

    SM VS SE

And doesn't require 2 hands on the bars to do it. I'm just thing to figure out why every thread in the GS/RS shop section get flooded by responses from the RT crowd. Most of which can not accept they sit in a different rider spectrum than an RS and RSS rider / buyer. Every dang thread. Sigh. I...

Difference between 2013 and 2015 RSS?

A vote for HMF here. It is loud though, having ridden next to one with the 2 bro's exhaust, I think they are similar volume, but the HMF is lower tone, and booms more. Akropovic sounds weak to me.

    Sachs rear shock an upgrade?

Do the later years have a preload adjustment? I don't see on when I look at the parts fiche? It appears the preload in only adjustable in the front

    Sachs rear shock an upgrade?

I am not impressed with the dampening charictaristics of the OEM rear shock, and I am wondering if the Sachs shock from a 2013 ST would be an improvement? It hasting extra bit of travel, but if anyone has experience with the older and newer style shocks, let me know, thx. it is also possible...

    HMF EXHAUST

They do not sell any solutions, I already contacted them...... And yes, the HMF does thunder pretty loud. I have resorted to rolling my bike down the driveway, as it booms pretty loud.

So... I got an F3 as a loaner - Not for me

No reason to think its slower, at least until the power drop and weight gain of later years..... But we do KNOW the F3 is slower. It is odd the bias some have, I really can't figure how the previous poster said the F3 was way faster, back to back the slower revving 3 cyl in the F3 certainly does...

So... I got an F3 as a loaner - Not for me

Having ridden both back to back to back...... The F3 has more torque, but certainly did not seem faster, and if it was, I'm fairly certain that if it was, BRP wouldn't be claiming it was slower....... But it just painfully lacks character, and it sounds like a hoover.

So... I got an F3 as a loaner - Not for me

That said, do I come to the F3 area of this site and poop on F3 owners opinions of RS models? Nope, that would be a pretty goofy thing to do!

So... I got an F3 as a loaner - Not for me

Most of the attention on my RSS is positive, other than the usual suspects of course. The other day there was mayhem in traffic on my way home the attention generated by the Spyder. And there is no doubt, that kid, I think because they are open minded, love the Spyder. But my RS is a booming...

Ongoing Mods Thread - Turning an RSS into an RST

5" Risers? 24" windshield? Wow! That is quite a change! That is solidly in RT territory I would say?

So... I got an F3 as a loaner - Not for me

So shifting at 4K rpms is high? And how do you quantify best? Quietest? Lowest revving? Most (economy) car like exhaust? How do you define the worst? The sportiest with the most character? The lightest? Quickest? Best sounding, quickest revving and most agile? That does sound awful! There is...

Ongoing Mods Thread - Turning an RSS into an RST

After a few hundred miles.... The bar risers are nice, I should have gone 4.5, but close enough. The BRP backrest is working great, except when I took off quickly, it clunked and shifted and got lose, prompting a frightened squeal from my wife. Not good! Tightened it with the tools and it...

    LOUDEST EXHAUST FOR 2012 RSS

I rode a stock F3, for 1 day, and got cut off twice. That's about a years worth of cutoffs for me in 1 day. People just don't notice bikes and Spyders, even when all the usual good riding practices to not get squashed are used. I run an HMF, and it's a bit too loud for my tastes, and probably...

If i could get a F3 seat on my RSS problem solved.

Well I had use of a standard Corbin for a few days, I wasn't blown away, but in hindsight, no sore butt! I now have a BRP "comfort seat", and it just ain't all that comfortable, maybe it will break in, I hope.

If i could get a F3 seat on my RSS problem solved.

Not my cup of tea but.... I would suggest a Corbin with Lamonster cut if you liked the F3 seat.

    Terrible gas mileage

My current truck revs to 7K rp, and the torque peak is 4500 That said, it loafs along at 1400 rpm in 6th as soon as it can to get best mileage. The difference between running 6th vs 2nd gear (4500rpm same speed) at the same speed, mileage wise is almost 30%! And each gear in between is...
