• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

When and where was the first time you rode a Can-Am tryke ??

2018. Midland, Texas. I owned a 2008 GL1800 Gold Wing with a Motor Trike Adventure kit since 2012. Loved it. However I became agonizingly aware that Honda dealers near me did not want to even touch a trike. I had to take it 125 miles to San Angelo to a friend for service. I began to look...

Hey BRP, are you listening? Sticky RT latches fix

Exactly what I was thinking! They look like they came from a bike several years old and exposed regularly to road salt.

Loud first gear change - is the clunk normal?

I find that if I let the Spyder warm up completely that first clunk is much less abrupt ...almost smooth...whether its reverse or first.

Anyone put an F4 windshield on their RT?

Not on my Spyder - YET... but did have one on my Gold Wing trike. Absolutely LOVED it.. Windex and paper towels... never scratched and the clarity of the shield was excellent...no distortion anywhere on it. Plus, the shield was surprisingly "thick" and rigid and didn't flex as the thin OEM...

F3L vs RTL comparison questions - any input?

I have the 2021 RTL. Before you bail… I Came from a Gold Wing GL1800 trike for several years. Possibly the “trying to throw me off in the turns” feeling can be rectified by simply pressing down on the floorboard or peg with the foot opposite of the turn. Ie, if you are turning left, press down...

    New personal best mpg

Odd thing… I too am in Texas and my figures are pretty much right there with yours for the winter/spring miles but I haven’t kept a nice spreadsheet like this. Yesterday’s fill-up was 40.93mpg. 2021 RTL, 7568 miles, usually Exxon, 93 octane consistently, OEM Kendas — 18 front cold, 26-28 rear...

Mounted officer ( horse cop ) chases thief - VIDEO

Thanks for the replies guys. An old, bad memory inspired this question. My grandfather sold a dam nice heavy-duty 1/2 Morgan-1/2 Quarter Horse to a young lady who decided to ride him in a small town parade. Friends told us that, obviously to gain attention and admiration from the crowd, she...

Mounted officer ( horse cop ) chases thief - VIDEO

Mike.. just curious…. Do those city horses have a special shoe other than a regular metal horse shoe? I am thinking maybe some kind of rubber to keep the horse from slipping on the concrete,, and to also provide some cushion for his joints for the long hours on that hard concrete.. ?

    Solo to Alaska

If you purchase the Air Hawk please keep in mind that it takes an extremely little amount of air to feel right. Keep playing with the air pressures. If it has even a little amount of too much air you will feel like you are going to bounce or slide off of it… very uncomfortable. I have the...

Thinking of buying a Spyder, but have a lot of Questions - any help please?

‘21 RTL here. Almost 9000 miles. I am a touring style driver. No problem with stock sway bars… lowered the front tire pressures from recommended 20 to 18.. handles great..no swaying back and forth. Changed stock handlebars to Heli-Bars for a customized fit. BRP adjustable air deflectors.. they...

First long trip on the F3

The dishwashing gloves have been with me on the last 4 bikes/trike/Spyder I have owned. Friends laughed like crazy when they saw them, wouldn't be caught dead wearing them... I really don't care how it looks - they work great and I didn't spend an arm and a leg on fancy "waterproof" gloves.

What’s your average MPG using what Octane Fuel?

At pure-gas.org I found a local station that sells non-ethanol unleaded gas.. price right now is $5.959 per gallon. Guess I will stick with the super unleaded 93 octane for now. I am getting anywhere from 37 to 41 mpg riding the same roads in the same manner. I don’t know why the...

    GWRRA Org. SHUTTING DOWN

Yup... cliquey is the term I would use also. But I have limited experience with them as we went to only 3 GWRRA area meetings. We got nothing but the cold shoulder at all 3 meetings even though we were each riding a 2008 GL1800 Gold Wing trike. We never knew if it was because of the the Gold...

Topping off your fuel tank - is it good practice??

I do pretty-much the same.... I fill the tank slowly, watch closely, then when I get a little splash the fuel is right at the very top and I shut it off cause I can actually see the gas... any more and it would risk a spill-over.

Color decision - I have a choice to make and I can't decide...

I usually choose a lighter colored bike as the lighter colors don't seem to show dirt as bad.. but this time I chose the Marsala Red/Black. I didn't care for the clay color available at the time. I am pleased with the color but the overall paint quality on the bike seems to be very poor and...

    RT Limited dark vs chrome

I was set on the chrome edition but at the last minute changed to the dark - don't have to worry about keeping those wheels so spiffy clean looking all the time. Plus... thought the dark was kind-of sleek and sexy-looking...LOL!

What car tire size should I fit - 225/60 or 215/60R15?

Thank you ever so much! Also.. I appreciate the tip you gave a few months back about placing a wedge on the Utopia backrest to get just the right angle for lumbar support.. prior to that simple tip I had tried some harsh attempts at getting a supportive angle on the backrest..

Hard time opening side bags on 2020 RT LTD - anyone else?

My '21 RTL is just opposite... the left bag will pop open as I drive. To avoid this I make sure it is locked with the key. Never any problems getting either bag to open.

What car tire size should I fit - 225/60 or 215/60R15?

Thank you for reply Mike. Believe me I have read your posts.. and did so again just now. Will the size you discussed in those posts fit my 2021 Spyder RTL.. since I know the tires you ordered were to fit your 2014 Spyder..? I have no idea if the 2021 and the 2014 take the same tire size...
