• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder party in Accord NY this weekend?

fine tuning the plan I just met Derrick yesterday. He seems like a super-nice guy, and he's installing a new General Altimax as I type. Not knowing him any better than I do, though, I'm wondering if rather than convene a Spyder happening in his driveway, if it might not be more accessible...

Spyder party in Accord NY this weekend?

Reply to Denman's last note Jàckie and I are close to the campground (So Hi) entrance. Red Toyota, 7x12 v-nose trailer, copper RT. Site G. However, unless this is a campfire-and-smores event, I'm thinking maybe we meet around noon Saturday at a restaurant suggested by one of you good...

Spyder party in Accord NY this weekend?

Ryders: A couple of weeks ago I asked around for a tire-changing shop near the Catskills in NY. Most recommended Derrick Netzley in Accord, NY, so, accordingly (terrible pun intended), I've got the man lined up to freshen up my rear tire later this week. The lady and I have reserved a...

On the road -- need rear tire "northeast" location

arrival in Accord, NY I figure it will be sometime around June 23, plus or minus a couple of days either way. I'll post a note when I've got an appointment. We're going to be camping in the 7x12. Anyone know a particularly niice campground that offers the basics (water and electric plus...

On the road -- need rear tire "northeast" location

re: sponse This forum rocks. On the instant advice from everyone above, I called Derrick Netzley's number on a Sunday afternoon (!) and within 5 minutes he called me back saying he had a choice of several tires in stock and for me to just give him a call 3-4 days out and we would set up an...

On the road -- need rear tire "northeast" location

neltzy Thanks for the input. I could route through Accord, NY if that's where help is available. Agree on the Catskills suggestion as to mice place to be "stuck." Will Netzley be able to R&R the rear wheel?

On the road -- need rear tire "northeast" location

So, the ladyfriend and I are on the road, hauling the Spyder in our self-made mini "toy-hauler" (a 7x12 V-nose home-away- from- home). Left Georgia nearly a month ago, pulling the trailer with our Tundra. We've been stopping to camp in interesting places, unloading the RT and exploring local...

    slop in handlebars 2014 RT-L

slop within spec? So you're thinking 1/2" freeplay at bar end is within normal?

    slop in handlebars 2014 RT-L

what "slop" is normal? First, let me apologize for not having provided actual objective data rather than making an away-from-the-garage guess (fueled by no small amount of anxiety) . My bad originally stating the play was about two inches. I've been to the garage now with ruler in hand and...

    slop in handlebars 2014 RT-L

I can't remember it being there when new, or even gradually starting to show. Whenever it actually happened, I now notice about 2" freeplay measured back/forth at the handlebar ends as the bike sits, stopped, all switches turned off, and I move the bars as if turning right or left. On the...

putting a CanAM in the motorcycle press

headset impression? The latest bluetooth offerings from several of the companies, Cardo included, are quite impressive. Very Little wind noise picked up by the mic, high quality speakers, and (for those accustomed to wired headsets) delightful to use unhampered by hook-up cables and such...

putting a CanAM in the motorcycle press

You may have noticed that there's a bit of reluctance on the part of the mainstream motorcycle magazines to give too much coverage of anything that's got more than two wheels, and when it happens there's always some sore head who dashes off a complaint to The Editor saying he didn't spend his...

    two up Finally

two up not too good! I hear your pain. It's taken both Spyder modifications and riding technique modifications to make it to where my good time gal is almost ashappy riding pillion as she was on two wheels. Some of the Spyder mods have been BajaRon's swaybar and some modified Polaris spring...

    MC Crash

avoiding accidents Good thoughts regarding making ourselves more conspicuous. Whenever I see a biker dressed in all black, including the currently in-vogue matte black helmet, and riding a black bike with no additional lighting, I'm thinking this person is more concerned with dressing exactly...

I Passed the Written and Driving Tests

Pass on three; then legal on two!!! You have just pointed out the idiocy of our country's licensing requirements. How in the world does a person taking a test on a three-wheeled vehicle equate to being certified to ride a 2-wheeled vehicle? Please note, I am by no way saying anything...

    Ramps for installing Rons Swaybar

getting it up I found it necessary to use a jack stand set on a cement block under each A-frame. Jacking it that high in the air before settling it steady on the jackstand/block perch was the scary part. Be sure you have a good ATV jack or equivalent.

    My MPG went up

octane versus alcohol I'm more preferential to buying gasoline without the added ethanol rather than worrying too much about the octane level. As many have stated, they get by just fine with 87 octane. Here in north GA I've got a bunch of stations on speed dial which have special pumps...

    TricLED 3rd/4th brake lights

just cut the wires and get on with it! Bob: You've got the solution. Posi-taps to the rescue. I got my installation finished up, and added a pair of red brake light flasher pods on either side of the license plate.
