• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyder on the Bayou 2016

Camping on the Bayou So, for this Spyder meet, anyone have any sage advice on good spots to camp? Jackie and I plan on attending, pulling a new-to-us Timeout trailer. Somehow, laying around a Spanish-moss covered cypress-surrounded lagoon has more appeal than (another) motel room. Not that...

How do I disassemble the RT mirror housings?

mirror disassembly Phil: I would like to read the entire section in the Shop Manual, since I broke two tabs "gently prying apart" the covers from one mirror on my 2014 RT-Limited (chrome garnish cover). Before I do any more damage on the second mirror, I want to read a little more to arm...

    Installed headlights tody

Mike's right............ Mike: Thanks for catching that important detail. That seller has a mix of CREE and Phillips LED's in his ad. I had searched on the term "Philips Luxeon" which turned up this mix of both the bad and the good LED's. Lesson learned. Pete

    Fog Lights

fog lights -- anyone? I read somewhere on the forum that replacing the fog lamp bulbs is a bear. The Owners Manual (the one that comes in the frunk) says "see your BRP dealer." Really?? Anyone have a few pics of what's involved? I want to do LED headlight and foglight replacements all at...

Smoky Mountain Spyder Rally this past weekend.

Spider Noob I, too, was (with my full-time second rider, Jackie) attending a Spyder rally for my (our) first time. Not a noob to m/c rallies by any means, I had a plan in advance to cruise the vendor alley (dropped $500 quicker than you can spell "cognac"), ride some great roads, intentionally...

    New 2014 owner...Laser alignment question

2014's shipped South I musta gotten one of the earlier ones, shipped to Lynchburg, VA. A left-over 2014, I picked it up for a good price, but passed on the dealer's quoted price for laser alignment: "$275......if it doesn't need any parts." Need any parts???? A brand new bike might "need...

    Foot pegs to replace floorboards

My guess is that some ryders whose Spyder came with foot pegs have since switched to floorboards. On my 2014 RT-Limited, I want to go the opposite direction. Does anyone who dumped their footpegs in favor of floorboards wish to sell their pair of unused pegs? If so, send me a photo (so I can...

    Laser alignment question

making the dealer pay......... 't Make him a bet: If he checks it for you and it doesn't need alignment, then you pay a small sum for his time. If it needs alignment, then he does it for free. Why in heck should you have to accept something BRP didn't catch in quality control???

    Extra Fuse Box

diode option Could you flush out your discussion of the diode? I see one mentioned at the Eastern Beaver site in connection with the PC-8 fuseblock, but can't find where to order it separate from one of Jim's already-made-up harnesses. Would I presume correctly it is installed in the...

2015 - Statistics on Motorcycle Fatalities of Syder Ryders?

Can't be any worse off?? Um, maybe as long as the CanAm stays upright, but my farm tractor has a Roll Over Protection bar on it to protect me if I'm belted in and the tractor flips. I see no such protection on a Spyder, and my personal preference is to be separated from the machine when it...

    Heated clothing questions

12V coaxial socket in passenger handle I see no easy way to access the underside of this plug without removing the passenger handle. For the life of me, I do not see a simple way to do this. I opened the left saddlebag and found two 30 Torx screws which appear to fasten the lid release...

    Heated clothing questions

Talk a little about how you mounted that coax plug for the passenger. Anything special involved with locating it in the left passenger handle where there's a knock-out plug? Seems I saw a pic posted once but can't seem to turn it up in a search. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk

    new owner with riding issues

uncomfortable? Hi: I'll chime as a new-to-Spyders driver. I have about 600 total miles on the new RT-Limited and confess to still not being nearly as smooth as I hope one day to be. The steering is sensitive, and sometimes I get my favorite curvy roads "just right," and other times I am...

    Sena 20S Anyone?

autocom vs Sena 20s Like you Susan, I'm a long time Autocom user, and comfortable with that system I've come to know so well. That's not to say it's always worked for me, however. Using VOX for bike-to-bike via FRS radios has not always been seamless. Definitely understand wanting to get...
