• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Rider, New F3, Looking for opinions

i started with an RS and after a 1000 miles or so knew that the RT was for me, most people are not buying a spyder for racing (i have a yamaha for that and it cost a hell of a lot less), they want a safer or more stable bike they can ride for either short or long ride conditions and the RT does...

How do I operate ECO Mode?

i have not noticed any big gas mileage with the eco mode but i only have about 650 miles on mine so far, if there is a difference it seems very small. It does however cut your power so it does DO something other than flash a green arrow. It may even lengthen the life of the engine if over 10...

Why Spyders (and people) love California

Like your plate :) Here is the time lapse if anyone in interested. 30 minute ride condensed into 2 minutes. Including the camera falling off its mount and me catching it lol

    Outrageous Price

$250 for a USB plug is a little on the ridiculous side. You can buy one of these and leave your phone in the glove box or even run the wire out of it if you need to charge a GPS in a mount or something. Either way there is going to be a wire. Or as Blueknight said just put a USB adapter in the...

Why Spyders (and people) love California

So got out for a 100+ mile ride on my new (november) spyder RT and just had a great ride. It was about 75 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We went along the coast to see the beautiful ocean and surfers galore and it was so clear you could see all the islands perfectly it was a great winter...

fuel gauge replacement - anything a/mkt available?

posted the wrong one, that one has silver outside and id rather have the black and has no pictures of the wiring. http://www.ebay.com/itm/131672724611?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

fuel gauge replacement - anything a/mkt available?

Thats fine with me, so i assume they are just power wires so a clock or voltage meter i could just remove the 4 dash screws, plug the gauges in and i am done? I am so stupid i just noticed the cruzr joe post answering my question about the wires. Sorry. So looks like clock is out because of the...

    Another dilemma

i was going to say / ask the exact same thing. These shots of it being stored outside in the snow even under cover make me want to cry. i am so glad i dont have to deal with that. My garage JUST big enough to fit my car, spyder and yamaha and be able to get them all out without moving any...

    Hawaii

probably just a cost factor. You would think with the great weather they would be big sellers out there. My brother wanted one so bad when he lived out there but no dealers, so when he finally moved back the first thing he did was go buy one. I wonder what happened to the rentals they did have...

fuel gauge replacement - anything a/mkt available?

i have a base RT no analog gauges just plastic covers to block the holes. Sounds like this guy had to wire this up and there is no existing wires behind the empty slots on my base RT? In the frunk where the hole for a 12v plug is the wires for the plug are sitting there waiting for you (why they...

    Deanna. Ignition Key Holder

agreed, the best feature of my car, which is gadget laden, is not having to dig in your pockets for the keys anymore.

fuel gauge replacement - anything a/mkt available?

Both good ideas, is it hard to wire in a volt meter or power a clock? Are there wires behind the Base RT just no gauges, like the 12v plug in the frunk?

JBC Speaker Install in both front and back of 2014 RT Syder!

so are the speakers that come with the spyder not a standard size physically where you can buy replacement speakers without modifying the holes?

    Dealer labor rates

wow that is crazy. i thought the 110 here was high. I like the guys at 60 an hour. I may ride out to CO for my next service! i did oil changes on my RS by myself but it was so easy to get the tuperware off of it. Looks like a PITA on the new RT i have and am afraid im going to break the mirrors...

    Deanna. Ignition Key Holder

problem with them for me is you cant just remove the key like the sheathe that comes with the spyder correct? I had this on my yamaha where you have to put the whole keyring in the ignition that leads to some scratches around the ignition.

Wire color for power outlet in Trunk

you looking for the 12v plug in the trunk, or frunk? In the frunk its already attached to the plug you attach to the 12v outlet and sitting to the right side of the battery. Not sure about the trunk.

    My first Spyder RT

Congrats on your new ride. If you want to just listen to music (which you can do with the RT radio so i assume not) or use the phone you can get a helmet with BT built in for cheap and have no clunky piece on the outside of the helmet. If you want rider to rider or passenger communication get...

changing from two wheels to three

like most have said safety is the biggest thing for me. i still have a 2 wheel crotch rocket and like to ride it when i am alone but for taking a passenger nothing like a spyder. You know that nervous feeling when you get when you start to push the 2 wheeler and lean farther and farther. Gone...

    Ultimate vs Corbin

i found the Corbin hard and slippery, especially for the passenger who kept sliding forward. No experience with Ultimate, Had a Mustang on my last cruiser and loved that seat to death, most comfortable bike seat i have ever been on.

    looking to buy new rt

Rotax is a pretty proven engine but has this triple been in other bikes like the 998? What i like about the triple asside from more power, better mileage, less maintenace etc. etc. is that it is much smoother and vibrates the bike less. Seems to me, and i could be wrong, that the vtwin cylinders...
