• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder RTS / Sena SM10 Bluetooth HOOKUP?

Would like some instruction on hooking up a Sena SM10 to my 2011 RTS sound system. I just want to listen to the radio and iPod, no bike to bike or passenger communication, just the sound system. Would greatly appreciate any instruction and/or information on additional devices I will need...

    Riding boots question

Tourmaster Waterptoof boots I'm on my second pair, after 9 years. The most comfortable riding boots I've ever owned, with over 39 years of riding. I get the same size as my regular shoes, and they fit perfectly with either cotton or wool sox. Very comfortable for riding, or walking and...

    GET A Grip

"GRIP PUPIES" MIGHT BE THE ANSWER I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. THE HANDS CAN GET TIRED FROM JUST HANGING ON, EVEN WITH A RELAXED GRIP. I ALSO FOUND THAT THE :spyder2: GRIPS WERE TOO SMALL IN DIAMETER. I HAVE USED "GRIP PUPPIES" ON MY LAST FOUR BIKES. THEY SLIP ON OVER THE STOCK GRIPS, ARE SOFT...

    droptail trailer

BIG TEX drop tail open trailer DROP TAIL OPEN TRAILER I'm using a BIG TEX drop tail open trailer. Paid $1595.00 for it in 2011. The bed dimensions are: 5 ft. wide by 10 ft. long. Plenty of room for my RT - S. The wheels are behind center, so it's easy to manuever, and backing up is a...

    Wax/Polish

"Original Spray Cleaner & Polish" ... AKA Honda Wax. I have found "ORIGINAL SPRAY CLEANER & POLISH" (formerly Honda Cleaner & Polish) in the black, pink and white can, as mentioned in some of these replies, to be the best product for protecting plastic, painted and metal surfaces. After a...

    To all the other old 2 wheel riders;

BEEN TWO WHEELING SINCE 1953 Had to get off 2 wheels after hitting a deer at 65 MPH, back when I was 75 (2008). Not a good experience: concussion, 7 broken ribs, collapsed right lung, and broken finger. OH, YEAH ... and a case of road rash. Went out and bought a Yamaha FJR 1300-AE after...

    AAA, Your Thoughts

UP-CHARGE FOR SPYDER. FLATBED REQUIRED. I purchased AAA road service last summer, and was charged an extra premium because a SPYDER CANNOT BE TOWED. It requires a flatbed truck or trailer. It wouldn't hurt to check your policy, 'cause you don't want to have to find that out along side the...

Planning tour, Boise to Banff, Summer, requesting local knowledge

FANTASTIC ROADS & SCENERY I live just So. of Missoula, and have riden the roads mentioned here for many years. It's never boring. They are some of the best motorcycle roads in the West, and offer some of the best scenery. Rt. 12 from Missoula to Lewiston, ID is one of the top 3 roads in the...

Why did you buy your Spyder

GETTING OLDER Back when I was only 75, I hit a deer at 65 MPH, and it kind'a messed me up. After I healed up, I bought a new Yamaha FJR 1300 AE, and rode it for a cuouple years, but after a while it got to be too tricky balancing it at stoplights. The RTS SE-5 seemd like a good choice, and I...

    Helmets?????????

THE FACE!! IT PROTECTS THE FACE!! I don't think I would even HAVE a face, today if I had not had my fullface helmet on when I crashed at 65 MPH, trying to miss a deer. Didn't protect the ole' ribs, though: 7 of those got broken, as well as two broken fingers. THANK YOU, HJC SYMAX!! ;) Ride...

how long to remove an rt seat?

LESS THAN 30 MINS. BUT, BE CAREFUL! It's not a bad job, but a little tricky. You must block the holes in the panel under the seat (the "traps") with duct tape, rags, etc.. That's where the nuts and sockets disappear into ....... for ever! So, BE CAREFUL. Normal tools are all that's...

    Wind? What wind?

JUST ORDERED MINE Ya sold me! I ordered mine on Wednesday. Will be here by Monday. My biggest issue with the stock RT-S windscreen is the NOISE ... from the wind, from the road, and from the muffler. All noises seem to converge right behind the stock windscreen and funnel into my helmet...

STIFFENED FRONT SUSPENSION ON 2011 RT-S / MUCH BETTER!

I just stiffened the front shocks from the next to last notch ...... to the LAST NOTCH. The improvement in handling is AMAZING! Just that one 'click' made all the difference. My 2011 RT-S is much easier to control in turns, and more predictable. No more 'wallow', and much more precise...

    oil plug again

HELICOIL ? That self-taping drain plug is a great idea. But, being an old (underline OLD) ALFA ROMEO and aircraft mechanic, I've always had trouble with steel threads going into an aluminum pan, head, or block. I've stripped a lot of 'em, over the years, I'm ashamed to say. The correct size...

    Alarms

I LIKE THE GORILLA UNIT I've used the Gorilla alarm on my last 5 bikes, and think it's fairly fool-proof and easy to install and program. I only want it for the "warn away" feature, to keep the lookieloos from messing with it. On my RT-S I installed it against the back wall of the frunk...
