• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Should I get a 2014 now, or wait and get a newer model? Any 'gotta have' features?

I've owned my RT-S for 11 years this month and 94,600+ miles. The only thing requiring replacement was a parking brake motor at a bit over a year under factory warranty. BRP B.E.S.T. extended warranty expired unused. I have no intention of replacing it. I do most of the maintenance myself per...

I'm going a different route on my next set of front tires - trying these IOTA EVT (Standard's) instead!

I replaced my Federal EVO front tires one year ago due to age with Vredestein Quatrac 165/60R and now have 5,350 on them and find them supremely comfortable and very grippy. Have not ridden them extensively in the rain because my trip to Spyderquest was rain free and I have ridden in only one...

    Polaris sells Indian Motorcycle

I can see it coming, golf carts on the Tail of the Dragon. Newspaper headline: Crotch Rocket T-Bones golf cart, Sideswipes Porsche.

Is it possible to fit a remote (hidden) Steering lock release? How/where does it operate? Any ideas?

Look at pg 19 of your Operator's Guide and it is obvious from the text description that as Bfromla says it is some kind of deadbolt system within the ignition switch. You can prove this to yourself by turning the bars left or right but not all the way in either direction and you will see that...

Am I looking in the wrong place for Frame and motor numbers? Any advice?

This is where the frame VIN is found on a 2014 RT. My apology, the picture of the VIN is too large to upload.

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

My first encounter with Lamont was in 2018 when he recommended Federal Evo front tires to replace the POS Kendas. Bought a pair, local dealership replaced them, no questions asked or comments made. Rode them until they needed replacement and went to Vredestein Quatracs.

Buying a new helmet - who replaces them every 5 years per manufacturers spec??

I was rather surprised at the price of a new Neotec II four years ago and at the dealership where I purchased first Neotec it was a special order that couldn't be returned; however, the business had a woman who, amongst other tasks, switched comm sets from old to new helmets at no charge. She...

New Owner of a 2024 Sea to Sky.

You would be wise to check what type of battery you have in your new scoot. I understand BRP is installing a cheap Chinese manufactured one that is chronically short lived.

Pros and Cons on pre ordering a 2026 RT?

To capitalize on what blacklightning says, why order a '26, take possession and eat the depreciation right off the showroom floor if you ultimately are not satisfied? iMotorsports might have some great deals. I intentionally bought at the end of the model year because I intended to keep it for...

2014 RT Limited Struggling on Starting, then the display goes to vertical lines! Could this be the battery going bad already?

My original battery began heading south in the fall, 2019. It began cranking slower but I had a Rugged Geek lithium jump start pack (actually had two of them but that's another tale) and one day running an errand it died in Wally World parking lot. The last thing that happened on the dash screen...

Anyone found or come up with something to keep the contents in those annoying side load saddle bags?

2024 RT L back at the dealer for the 9th time in 3 months!! How long until you give up?

Congratulations, Graderman! Very good news. I enjoyed a long test ride of an F3 way back in 2016 but the Tupperware design didn't accommodate my long legs. The ride was fun though.

    Hidden Surcharges shouldn't be allowed!

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

My bride of 61+ years was the self-powering pillion, aka stoker, on a tandem bicycle for 25 years, but it took only one long weekend Spyder Rally in SC to convince her that riding the back of the Spyder wasn't for her. Fortunately for me, she fully supports my love of the three-wheeler and I...

Any ideas on adding an aftermarket USB for phone charging during travels on our 2017 RT?

You are new to the Spyder world and you want to log some miles with the bride. You must be at the top of your A-game with the pillion prize behind you. Put the phone in the trunk and let it charge. Return the calls when you stop for a break.

Is the Canyon Riding position narrower than the RT's? Enough to notice & stop cramping hips?

I take a different approach and my avatar tells a bit of the story. If one has stiffness or lacks flexibility, the way to solve or reduce the problem is to do exercises before climbing on the steed; incorporate it into your daily routine. Yoga or a stretching program will help one immensely. At...

Has anyone used a 'Thru the dipstick' 12v Oil extractor on a Spyder?

Allen has it correct. You can use a suction device if you've mistakenly overfilled it, but with a dry sump lubrication system it's essentially a waste of time. You're still going to have to drain the crankcase and clutch cover, aka the transmission plug.

Can anyone tell me what this tray in the RT Trunk is?

    Looks like a 2014 Cognac 2014 Ltd; my RT-S didn't have one.
