• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    My GPS is worthless

There are a couple of aftermarket "screen protectors" that provide decent solutions for that problem - there are also sun shields, that fit around the outside of the GPS. Some folks rely on the audio directions from the 660 - running through the stereo..

    What should we do?

They were the standard BRP vents - here's an E-bay listing for a set: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Can-Am-Spyder-RT-Adjustable-Side-Wind-Deflectors-219400362-/351001793362?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item51b9565352&vxp=mtr These are well worth the cost, and install time us under 10 minutes...

    What should we do?

Ok, back from 110 mile trip - Sunny - 25K variable winds - speed 25 - 75... 2 up. First, the F4 is a big sheet of plexi in front of you, and it noticeably flexes more than the stocker. With the shield all the way down, it's perfect for 1 up riding - however, the large size of the windshield...

Laser Alignment - Please Explain the Need

The "need" is directly proportional to the quality of your dealer at set up. Some Spyder's need nothing, and some should be running sideways - it's worth the investment to have it check out. I have the alignment on all my vehicles checked at tire change time....

    What should we do?

Looking at $400 ish, depending on the options. I too picked the vented version - for air into the bubble in the summer. I also have the adjustable side vents, which I think are a solid gold farkle.

Got some terrific Spyder roads up there - enjoy!

    What should we do?

Dudley - while you have a point, a good windshield will help form a bubble around you and the passenger at "speed". This helps with frontal wind (which is what most of us try to manage), and quartering wind. Not much anyone, not in a cage, can do about gusty/high side or aft winds... as anyone...

    What should we do?

I'm 6'4", and my bride is 5'11" - we tried the stock 25" windshield, the BRP 25" vented windshield, and now have the F4 28" vented barn door. I don't know if BRP ships the 23" windshield as stock now, or the 25" windshield. The 23" is about equal to no windshield to us tall folks. Of the...

    THIS JUST PUBLISHED BY NHTSA

We all hope this is true. If BRP threw in the towel, not only would there be no "fix" forthcoming, but everyone would have expensive collector's items, worth less than a Honda ATC 350X. Folks remember, that when a solution is offered, it must be backed up with real world data. They will need...

    Heat

Other than moving the canister vent tube, and remembering not to overfill my 2010, I never had any kind of heat issues with it. The 2012s are even better.

new for 2016,,, THE INDIAN DARK HORSE

Doesn't ring my bell. Don't like to be reminded of 1946 (when I was born), single seat, no windshield - otherwise, it's OK. My top two wheel rides: BMW K1600, Honda F6 dresser, Vrod (+windshield & bags). While I've ridden the K16, I haven't owned one, but put many happy thousands of miles on...

1330 CAT delete for the RT

I've heard that about the newer Harleys, and the $2000 in mods needed to fix that. However, I also heard the wetheads are much better - good news for TriGlide affectionados. I had no issues with heat on either my 2010 RT nor my 2014 RT, but I live in a region where 80F is considered hot...

1330 CAT delete for the RT

Free flowing exhaust = better mid-range, and a bit better acceleration. Just curious if the CAT delete would provide that. However, it seems that what we are calling a CAT, may really just be a secondary muffler, rather than a catalytic converter....

    Tool Kit

PIC Attached I started riding motorcycles in 1964, and have always had a bike since now my 2nd RT. I've been fortunate to have had few failures on the road, but have developed a set tool kit that I always carry. Leatherman and Gerber make great kits, a couple of which I consider "must haves"...
