• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

(DIY - looking to: ) There was a lot of talk about multi-pin DIN connectors

Hey Guys, In the rear trunk (2010 RT-S), upper right hand side there is multi pin DIN style connector that allows you to add a phone/MP3 player/apple product to the stereo of the Spyder. I want to make my own cable being that I have all the parts here to make one up. I am looking for the cable...

Is there a bulb chart anywhere??

Yes... I know what kind of bulb it is. I was just wondering if the gas/temp gauges came from factory with LED's installed. In general, if the bike didn't come with LED's and only incandescent, it should say somewhere the wattage of the bulb needed. I will check the book again. I didn't see a...

Is there a bulb chart anywhere??

Hey Everyone... I have a question that has led to another question... I took apart the dash to my wife's 2010 RTS to disable the fuel and temp gauges. I suspect the fuel gauge is not as accurate as it could be so I wanted to try the digital one for a while. We have only had the bike not quite...

Looks like a miniature septic tank!

Well, that could be. I would hope that they would use a better quality brake line that would last better than 10 years. You are right though. I am only say the "O" rings because of a few posts that mention that as a possible issue. All I know at this point is that is was not gummed up brake...

    2012 RT - A/mkt Electrical item identification?

:agree: Custom Dynamics. One of the best brake light flashers out there. I have purchased 6 or 7 of these over the years for various bikes. I am scared however to add anything to this bike because of the can-bus system. Tim

How often should the air system be making adjustments?

Thats a great idea. I am all for PM on equipment. I have ventured under the plastics yet. Intimidated with that mirror removal routine! hahahaha Think I will order those magnets in. Tim

Looks like a miniature septic tank!

I am inclined to believe you! I change the fluid in my brake and clutch reservoirs on all my bikes every spring. The reservoir is the one place (should be) that has any exposure or potential exposure to atmosphere and moisture. Brake fluid will draw it in and contaminate that volume of fluid...

Looks like a miniature septic tank!

PMK.. I will keep it at DOT 4. I wouldn't want someone in the future (forgetful me) to add or semi flush with DOT 4. :sour: I will use regular "O" rings. I forgot about the incompatibilities. Do you know if the breakdown of the "O" rings, if that is what is going on, is a constant unresolved...

Looks like a miniature septic tank!

So far on my list of "Things to do" with the "new to my wife" Spyder is a laser alignment, which I will build the equipment for and a Flush and Repair of the clutch circuit and Slave Piston. The clutch issue is why I am posting now. The pics below will tell a story, a familiar one to some I...

How often should the air system be making adjustments?

Thanks... I got this for my wife on Friday night July 10th. Drove it home (partially at night through thick London like fog) which was a 4 hour run arriving home at 11:30p. I have never ridden a Spyder before and my learning curve on-the-fly was in the shape of a circle. Been riding 2 wheels...

    Just another compressor issue

Thanks for this reply. I actually started a thread yesterday (not seeing this one) with question based on this. Tim

How often should the air system be making adjustments?

Hey guys... 2010 Spyder RTS How often should the air system be making adjustments? Sounds like a silly question and I only have my Goldwing to compare it too, but I hear a "Psssss" quite often. I don't think I hear the compressor pump it up but when my wife or I sit on it and it moves a...

    Service Manual needed 2010 RTS...

I just downloaded this manual. Came out to about $33 Canadian. Money well spent! Well written and illustrated. My new "Best Read"! hahaha Thanks again... Tim

    Service Manual needed 2010 RTS...

Hey guys... Looking for a recommendation on a service manual for my wife's "new to her" 2010 RTS. I will be using it and will need it to be a true technical service manual, not some of these "fluff" ones you see from time to time. Looking for Paid or not. I just need something good. Thanks, Tim

Wheel Alignment in Halifax NS Canada???

Hi guys... I finally pulled the trigger on the purchase of a 2010 RT-S with the help of the knowledge of the folks here on Spyderlovers. This place is a fantastic knowledge resource. Hopefully I can pick it us on Friday evening or Saturday morning. It's 3.5 hours away and I am on call so I am...

    Tire kits

I have the "Slime" air compressor that I carry with me on the Goldwing. It's small in size but appears to be a good compressor in what few times I have used it. I do not used the slime. The bikes rims are aluminum and the slime will corrode aluminum easily over time. Plus when you do go to...

Anyone tried "Speed Bleeders" brake bleeders?

You're gona love the speed bleeders. They make a somewhat easy job a brainless event. I change my brake fluid every spring and it just takes minutes now to do it. It's effortless. Tim

    Stripped out handlebar bolt :(

You can do this safely and without setting fire to your Spyder! :) All that needs to happen is enough heat to be transferred down the shaft of the bolt. You do NOT need to make that bolt head cherry red or anything remotely like that. 20 second on and 20 off... repeated. All that need s to...

    Stripped out handlebar bolt :(

You can add heat to the equation though it would be tricky. If you use a mini torch you can add heat to it in a precise manor. Mini torches may not have a huge flame but they can produce a small, manageable hot flame. Aiming this into the bolt head will transfer heat down the bolt shaft. You...

    Stripped out handlebar bolt :(

I'd use the allen wrench and strike it a few hard times with a hammer. Pick up a cheap allen wrench if you don't want to wack your good set. Next, use the appropriate allen socket and try to TIGHTEN it a wee bit. Then go for a full on removal. You don't want to cut into the bolt to try a screw...
