• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First ride after adding seat gel hoping for more comfort, but nope, no change! What to do? Anybody made theirs better?

S-4 My seat was: $540 Vinyl $45 H-D Suspension $20 retain heat $75 return shipping ----------------------- $680 total Doing it over again, I'd do leather seat insert as the vinyl can sometimes be a bit slick on twisty roads. Also due to build structure and heavy duty suspension, it raised the...

Anyone running PPA wheels with aftermarket car tires?

Hey all, I am currently running a 165/55 set of front Kanines on my PPA wheels. These have no clearance/fitment issues on my 2022 RT S2S. PPA wheels are 5.5" wide versus 5" width on OEM wheels. I can say that a PPA wheel and165/60 Vredestein had no clearance issues on my 2019 F3S. They did...

20,000 miles and still have OEM front tires

As being reminded by Knizer, my past Vredesteins were fitted to PPA wheels. PPA wheels are 5.5" wide, while OEM RT wheels are 5" wide. That could explain things a bit clearer? Yet, I had no clearance issues with PPA/Vredestein on the 2019 F3S. Fitment issues could be wheel related? :( ** I'll...

Some pix/info on $20 ebay handguards

I will use as is. Here in Wisconsin, my riding season will basically be over in about 5 weeks, or when salt hits the roads. I'll wear light gloves to go along with my heated grips. They are not very big, and their main intent is to just deflect some air off my finger tips. I have bigger...

Some pix/info on $20 ebay handguards

Yeah. The Storm would certainly be more effective, but they're HUGE. I likely would have gotten the black/black VPS plastics, but they would have been $140 with braces. Then I'd likely have remorse over not getting the carbon fiber guards. They would have been $300! I'll try my $21 guards first. :)

Some pix/info on $20 ebay handguards

Thought I'd post up some photos of my just installed ebay handguards on my RT S2S. - These are Chinese knockoffs of the Puig Avant handguards which cost $90 on Amazon. They came with silver accents, not black. The silver braces screw off easily and are easily corrected with a couple coats...

20,000 miles and still have OEM front tires

How about on a 2022 RT S2S? These tires + mounting would run me $330 locally from a tire vendor buddy. I don't know if I want to take that much of a $$ gamble :(

Another good example. Kenda lists the 165/55R15 tire as having an overall diameter of 23" and section width of 7". For the 165/60R15 Vredestein Quatrac, Tire Rack lists an overall diameter of 22.8" and section width of 6.5". Taking these samples into account, I should have zero clearance issues...

Buying a new helmet - who replaces them every 5 years per manufacturers spec??

I tend to swap out helmets more than shoes. I currently have four helmets under a year old. My current oldest helmet is a bit over two years. I'm set for a while... until I'm not! :)

Did you request the Baja Ron standard or Ultra sway bar? I see they do not list the BR Ultra version on their website.

Buying a new helmet - who replaces them every 5 years per manufacturers spec??

Well ... Everything breaks down over time. My helmets spend their off time on hooks in the garage, or in their bag/boxes in the basement over winter. At least wash the cheek pads/head liner or replace. Quite honestly, 7 years is a long time, but the best helmet is something comfy enough that you...

I understand this. Most of the time, you're at the mercy of manufacture info. Conti and Vredestein certainly won't share their data sheets. We just buy and take our chances :(

20,000 miles and still have OEM front tires

Just looking at Tire Rack specs between the Vredestein 165/60 and Conti 165/60, the Conti has both a distinctly wider section width and tread width. They'd likely rub even more than my Vredesteins did. On the next rainy day, I'm going to add a 3rd M8 washer to each fender support (I have two...

Hey Ron, Any chance you tried a 155/60 Conti, or the 165/60 ? Thx

A big shout out to Bajaron and his team! - sorry, long story.

BRP, sadly, has the market cornered on reverse trikes. Things would likely be very different if one of the Japanese 4 got into the market.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I did basically the same thing. I took off my RDL seat after my touring season was over, as I wanted to lower my seat height. My stock S2S seat, with compression, is a solid 2"+ lower. I then removed my Helibars and installed some long reach bars on my 2" risers. I like this set up much better...

I hear ya. I ran a 215/60R15 Goodyear Winter Ultra Grip tire on the back of my past F3S. It had 8K miles on it when I sold the Spyder. It was an awesome tire, with great stick. I used that tire after running the Ultra Grips year round on my squad cars for many years without issues. I'd likely...

Well ... They do make the Winterprocontact in a 155/60R15. Looks like a Vredestein. Heck.. The Vredestein has a snow flake rating. But, alas, not recommended for temps above 45° :( :)
