• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is BRP GO cell phone connection any improvement over BRP CONNECT?

I only use the USB connection to keep my phone charged and the screen lit on apps like Waze. I bought inexpensive "data blockers" to attach to the cable that is attached to the bike so that the BRP system does not take over my phone's screen, reducing the cable to just a charging cord...

I took a Demo ride on a Harley trike - much prefer my RT!

I went with my son to a local HD dealer where demo rides were being offered. He wanted to try their “Adventure” bike, so I signed up for a ride as well, on a 2023 trike. Short story: I much prefer my RT. The HD does give a more traditional-like motorcycle experience with the single wheel in...

RT seems better suited for seniors

I'm approaching 80 (next week) and have been riding for about 40 years. When I decided to go to 3 wheels I chose a new RT and have never regretted my choice. Yesterday while at the local Can Am dealer I was looking at the new bikes on the showroom floor. The Ryker looked like fun, but would not...

    Poor gas tank design

There are local gas stations I won’t use for just that reason.

Not a crisis topic - just Old Age and a new curiousity - 50mph 'feels' faster...

Been riding 40 years and turn 80 in less than 2 weeks. If anything I find I need to go faster than in the past to get the same adrenaline jolt. I'm lucky to have a road only a few minutes from where I live that is very lightly traveled, straight as an arrow for over a mile, with not a tree...

    Poor gas tank design

Yesterday I was really patient when filling up after a ride with my 2021 RT. I didn't let the pump work automatically, but kept it to a modest flow. It clicked off as it should when the tank was supposedly full. But I patiently kept filling, with the gas pump nozzle just barely into the tank...

Any suggestions for Blind spot mirrors?

I hesitate to try the stick-on little blind spot mirrors because of how hard they are to get off without damaging the OEM mirror. But as I get older its a bit harder to turn my head far enough to really look for a vehicle in my blind spots so maybe I need to at least give this a try.

Its hard to get off 2 two wheels and onto three.

I understand that some are unsure of the reliability of the Spyder, especially if they are used to the rock solid reliability of Honda. I switched just short of two years ago from a Honda Goldwing to an RT and so far have had zero issues with the bike. I had the oil changed at 3,000 miles as...

Its hard to get off 2 two wheels and onto three.

There sure are a lot of us former 2 wheelers now on Spyders! I don't think its weakness at all, just a realization of the changes we go through as we age. For me, what caused me to make the change from a Goldwing to a Spyder was having two tip overs in a short time two summers ago when I was 78...

Want to get new front tires, not sure what to get? 2021 RTL

I've still got the stock Kendas on my 2021 RT with almost 9,000 miles. No problems, no wandering, no excessive vibration and almost no sign of wear on any of the tires. When I do need to replace any of the tires I would not have a concern about getting the same Kendas that I have right now.

Dealer says Demo Rides are not possible - any suggestions?

I'm amazed that any dealer can stay in business if they do not allow for demo rides. I was a 2 wheel rider for almost 40 years when I decided I either needed to go to a lighter bike (lighter than my 900 pound Honda Goldwing) or go to 3 wheels. I was mentally not really ready to go to 3 wheels...

Has anyone installed modulator head lights?

I used modulating headlights on several bikes that I owned from about 2009 to 2021. There was no doubt in my mind that the problem of cars/trucks turning left in front of a motorcycle was greatly reduced through the use of the modulator. It is just difficult NOT to see the flickering light. When...

Tired of the sissy wave by other riders

Some folks are just too sensitive for their own good. Just enjoy the ride. Why would anyone care if strangers return a wave or not? Those that tell you that you are not a "real" motorcyclist because you ride a 3 wheeler are probably the type of faux rider who goes from home to a bar, parts his...

Having difficulties properly Filling the gas tank!

It must be related to the interior shape of the gas tank, but when filling my 2021 RT, even with controlling the fuel flow to a modest level, the pump clicks off far before the tank is full. Today when putting gas in, the pump clicked itself off at 3.6 gallons added. I gently kept the pump...

How do you explain what riding is like?

Riding offers a sense of freedom that no enclosed vehicle like a car or truck, or even a convertible can offer. I liken it to the feeling that I had a long, long time ago riding a horse out into the desert north of El Paso, TX by myself. The sense of independence and freedom of those rides, with...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

I still don't understand the rationale for naming inanimate objects. If I owned a boat I would call it "the boat". I call my SUV "the Durango", my Mini Cooper "the convertible", by Subaru Outback "the Subaru", my Honda scooter "the scooter" and my 2021 RT "the Spyder". My brother has a neighbor...

Check out the New Garmin Zumo XT2

I very rarely take more than day trips, and I'm not sure what this would do for me beyond what I can get for free from Waze or Google Maps or similar apps. Right now I don't think its worthwhile for me to spend $600 for a gadget that I would have to remember to take with me whenever stopping and...

Is there a brake light recall now?

Spyder recall CoachBob on You Tube started his video with an announcement of a Can Am Spyder recall, 2023-6, to fix a problem where the rear brake light would stay on even after you stop braking. According to what he announced, the recall will include my 2021 RT, but as of yet I have not...

    Fuel octane explained.

I'm not an engineer. I respect those that designed my RT and if they say that I should use 91 or higher octane, that's good enough for me. My Spyder is a toy for my pleasure. I could have bought a far less expensive little motorcycle if the cost of fuel was my main concern, or I could just ride...
