• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does this Belt Tensioner Idler Stabilizer Roller look familiar? Are any parts (Rollers) interchangeable??

R&D is expensive with no initial return on investment. It's all out of pocket expense. Then you have to develop a market for the product. Once you've done all of this, then you begin reaping profit which eventually overtakes the expense of development and you're in the green. The Chinese...

28k Service - I must rant about my experience

I always apply the Rush Limbaugh axiom - 'Follow the Money'. This policy puts a lot of pressure on the consumer to purchase a new machine. This is amplified by the fact that there really isn't anything else out there competing with the Spyder. It’s a bit more complicated than this, but bottom...

Will any year Spyder Centramatic Wheel Balancers fit my 2025? Anyone know where I can still get a set?

I will just say this and be quiet because I know people who swear by these balancing devices and I'm not here to talk them out of it. However, the first thing we do with any kind of wheel balance issue is to remove these balancers. They are known to create more issues than they solve. We have...

    Canyon Carving on a Canyon

I haven't said much about the Canyon so far. Basically 2 reasons for this. First, I felt the Canyon might be filling a niche that didn't really exist. 2nd, I had not ridden one, which I knew might nullify my first reason. I’ve never been against the Canyon. I just wasn’t sure there was a reason...

Cat delete, is it worth the money

I didn't mean to imply (Post #99) that no one is happy with both a cat delete and louder aftermarket muffler. Obviously, some are. Just that you might want to approach it incrementally. You may be surprised at how much difference the cat delete will make. It's not huge, but it is appreciable in...

Does this Belt Tensioner Idler Stabilizer Roller look familiar? Are any parts (Rollers) interchangeable??

I tested this one on my F3. I got less than 600 miles before it failed. If it had not been discovered quickly, it would have taken out my drive belt.

NEW oil leak 2016 RT - anyone recognize it/know what it is from?

Assuming that you have been using the correct method of checking the oil level. And Assuming that you have not done an oil service recently. And Assuming that you replaced the filler cap correctly. Then you're stuck with what has been suggested. Lift the Spyder, take the splash panels off and...

Getting a Vibration through the seat - anyone offer a seat cushion to offset? Any tips/hints?

If the vibration is being created by some sort of malfunction, yes. But vibration created by the proper operation of a machine, no. Handlebar weights have been around for a very long time. In general, motorcycles used to vibrate a lot more than they do these days. What with spinning...

Cat delete, is it worth the money

You'll get a bit more power and better throttle response. But these are not enough to really justify the mod. Weight and huge heat reduction are the main motivating factors. Since everyone has a different idea about sound, that's a toss-up. It is highly recommended to start out leaving the...

28k Service - I must rant about my experience

The arbitrary 10-year thing definitely hurts... I wonder how many purchase a new Spyder for this reason. And how many move on to something else because of it.

Getting a Vibration through the seat - anyone offer a seat cushion to offset? Any tips/hints?

Engines vibrate. To me, it's just part of the experience. Ride a 441 BSA Victor, or a Mach III 2 stoke tripple, or a 650 Triumph Bonniville. Now those vibrate. The 998 V-Twin Rotax is a very smooth motor compared to a lot of machines. Everyone is different. But to me, I don't have a problem...

28k Service - I must rant about my experience

Addressing the 'Vredestein' portion of the OP's story. I know that anything not OEM is an easy hook to hang the problem on. But the fact that the problem existed before mounting the Vredesteins should put a pin in that balloon. Nor do the Vredesteins give up any traction abilities to the OEM...

How I fixed my Twitchy brakes!

A relaxed grip, arms, & shoulders are the key to riding any reverse trike. It's the big change that almost everyone misses. Until you get this right, the Spyder/Ryker/Canyon can be a scary ride.

2010 RTS - unexplained quitting fixed & some Engine mods.

If you do the Crankcase Vent mod, it will eleminate the gummed up throttle body butterfly issue on the V-Twin. It's also a good idea to replace the short vacuum hoses on the throttle body while you're there.

I want Spyder/Ryker/Canyon dealerships to succeed

As always, love to see you! It's not so much that we check the work of others. It's more that it's hard to miss when we get into a job. We are currently doing a clutch on a 1330 that a customer brought to us. He had the dealer install a new clutch plate set but it didn't last very long. When...

Need help/instructions for doing a Header wrap on my F3 - anyone?

Take your time to get it right. The thinner width will go around bends better. Thicker widths will cover more ground with each wrap. I would not recommend going over 2" wide for the Spyder. I've used 1" & 1.5" with great results as well. Purchase a high quality material. You only want to do...

Just sold my Harley and have follow up questions - what spec RT; Base, Ltd, Sea to Sky? Used, or new?

The key to getting a good price is to set reasonable parameters and always be willing to walk away from the deal.

Recommend anyone for a Sway Bar Install In So Cal?

You only need 18-20 inches of clearance if you are leaving the rear wheel on the ground. You need 24" from the frame member holding the bar to the ground. Which starts out 4-5 inches above the floor. Angling the Spyder gives additional clearance because the bar comes out vertically from the...

Ryker newbie - how do I break in the CVT belt? Any other tips?

I'm with Mikey. Power braking your CVT is a good way to bring your drive belt to an early death and possible damage to your pulleys. You should be able to move from a stop without spinning the rear tire. Of course, you need to go easy on a new belt for about 50 miles. Stop and go riding is not...
