• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is my Air bag leveling? Any way to make it more noticeable when adjusting the ride height?

Manually let the air out, if it has the schrader valve under the rear seat. Then start it, it should raise back up. I tested my first 2018 RT that way. That is the only time I they heard one run on one of my 3 different 2018 RTLs.

Rodents chose my 16 RTL as a home

I replaced a cable to the left front speed sensor on a lady friends 2017 RTL that was chewed into two pieces. Down the street from her in the Az RV Resort, another Spyder had to have the main wiring harness replaced, to the tune of thousands of dollars. I place Tap Cat's under my trikes.

Recommend anyone who can be trusted to do a Laser Alignment 'right' in Washington State?

I think my in-laws 2014 RTL needs a laser alignment and the power steering system checked over, as the steering is "heavy" on it. I know Pro Caliber in Vancouver could do it. His Spyder is in Everett Wa right now and goes to Chelan, Wa also; anyone else around Washington who could be trusted to...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

When we do the fall trip back to AZ (travel in my truck only) via the coast, we may just do the Avenue of the Giants; as with all the trips done traveling back and forth, starting back in 1967 while in the USCG at Point Arena Loran A station on the coast, I have never taken that parallel route.

Old Gold Wing rider considering a 2012 RT need help finding a fair value for it and advice.

I bought my first 2018 RTL in the fall of 2020. In January of 2024 I bought another 2018 RTL in the Asphalt Grey color I really like, and did a 6 day 1850 mile bucket list relocation of the first Champaign Color one to Washington State from Arizona. In the fall of 2025 I sold the Washington one...

Where to find the RT-L Air filter - it's not where my Owner's Manual suggests!

I drove right hand drive USCG trucks in Thailand summer of 1966 to summer on 1967. Was there building and operating a Loran C navigation system that the USAF wanted.

How noticeable is the Engine heat: F3 vs RT?

I have heard that Slingshots are like toaster ovens.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Did the first two up ride on the newest new to me 2018 since I installed the General Altimax RT45. Carol said the rear seat felt like she was sliding around on it with the OEM Kenda out back. I asked her part way through the ride if the seat felt better. Answer was yes, the movement sensation...

    Question for mecsw500

"In the end, it causes me to wonder if there is one reason given, and another, unspoken reason, for this policy." Like the contract BRP has with Kenda as a tire supplier? Then there is the whole issue of a tire marked Motorcycle only when the rims on the Spyders are a J style car bead and not...

    Question for mecsw500

Like I have posted before, what if FORD had said you can only install Firestone tires on your Ford Explorer, a model that was having rollover issues? There is some sort of agreement between Kenda and BRP, which smells of constraint of trade.

Any Modification recommendations from those who tour on their Spyders?

I think they call that a pinch failure. I hit a pot hole coming down off Mount Lemon in Tucson Az with right front tire so hard the magic mirror on that side popped off, the Vredestein was fine. Only doing about 30 MPH. Now I hit the German Shepherd in speed it only did 5525 dollars damage...

Anyone else had an Oil Leakage Issue like this? - UPDATE

I wonder when they do the transmission output shaft recall if the same case is split. I have had three 2018 get the recall and no leaks afterwards. AI says they share the same case.

    Question for mecsw500

I think post #37 in this thread will answer that question for you. https://www.spyderlovers.com/threads/another-tire-thread%E2%80%A6but-different%C2%BF-new-kenda-xps-roadster-tires-more-durable.161475/page-2#post-1755648

Question about the 4 PSI rule for tire inflation

Maybe on a Kenda, however I have NOT done very many miles on one. I base my tire pressure on handling, and not wear. Handling is more important to me that tire wear.

Question about the 4 PSI rule for tire inflation

I would say if one is seeing a 4 lb increase on a Spyder tire, it is WAY under inflated.

2024 will Crank, but just won't start! More later...

Hmmm, the Spyder has a fair amount of paralytic current draw when just setting unused. Which will draw the battery down over time. This the first time I have hear someone state that leaving batteries at float voltage is not good for them. Lots of companies have designed many varieties chargers...

That must have been a heck of a pop hole hit!

Anyone ever mounted a RAM ball directly to handle bars?

Well I bit the bullet and drilled a small pilot hole with a drill stop (wooden dowel) limiting the depth. Nothing right here in the bars. So more drilling and tapping threads in the bar. Put Gorilla Max Strength Construction Adhesive on the ball mount and screwed it on. Phone mount now...

Question about the 4 PSI rule for tire inflation

Not a good idea to run tires under inflated. Creates more heat and tires hate heat. Also there is a sweet spot in inflation regarding handling, and 14.5 might be below that point. When you install the new tire and have a few miles on it, place a piece of white paper on a smooth surface and...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

As I think about my life, I spent a quarter of it growing up, going to school and some college living at home. I spent the next half of my life serving my country for four years and working at 4 jobs all but one of them using the training in electronics I received in the USCG. And most recently...
