• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there a Key Blank available for 2014+ Spyders?

I have a 2014 RT (new to me) and have only 1 key. I am planning to disable DESS because of the many that have experienced problems and secure the bike with locked handlebars on trips, rather than being stranded with the DESS error. Is there a blank key available that is unchipped, to work with...

2025 Planning 11th Memorial Trip to Central Texas (in memory of my wife)

My father stood on the castle floor high up in the air when it was being built. I remember visiting Longhorn Cavern near there. And someone else mentioned Enchanted Rock... have been there and the trail up. Will have great memories riding in that area ... my dad passed in July. My parents...

What Communication devices do you use between rider/pillion & other riders in your group?

Use both the old Sena SMH10... still going strong with a battery change ... and the Sena 50s. The newer mesh 50s makes linking up a group easier and range longer as it daisy chain hops between riders. For 2 with wife on back, the SMH10 are great and they were good even in our group of 4...

2025 Planning 11th Memorial Trip to Central Texas (in memory of my wife)

Thanks for the info... that's helpful as we plan our trip south in June. My folks used to go to church in Fredricksburg... they lived near Kingsland/Marble Falls in retirement. I have to get back to Cooper's in Llano ... as that is my last name and "Cowboy" open pit bbq is great there and...

Awesome way to remember her. And the wind helps us heal after sadness and find our way again.

2025 Planning 11th Memorial Trip to Central Texas (in memory of my wife)

This will be 11th time 3 buddies and I are out on the road over the day my wife left this life (June 12). This year we are aiming for Central Texas' hill country. We will be out for 10-12 days, riding from here in WI. If anyone has some good rides in that area of Texas to recommend, please...

What Communication devices do you use between rider/pillion & other riders in your group?

My friends and I all use Sena 50S now.. mesh units and have found them to be a great upgrade from our older Sena units. The mesh makes it so easy for the group to connect and stretches our ability to conference further. Even the older Sena units we used for many years are still working well...

    I got clotheslined!

Thankful you are okay. That is frightening. One of my buddies lost a friend who got a highway strap from a semi tangled in his wheels... threw him by locking the bike up on the freeway. :( It's dangerous to have wires, straps, ropes, etc. dangling! My closest call on 2 wheels was a ladder...

998cc Anyone fitted & used an A/mkt Electronic gear Changer? What mods needed?

I'd recommend going up to a semi auto spyder... designed to work that way for you and not a tack on solution. I didn't think I'd like the thumb shifting since I had always ridden with clutch and foot shift ... since I was a kid with a mini-bike, but I really like the semi-auto of my new-to-me...

P0351 error and Check Engine Light on - any help/advice?

Swapped out the ecm today and no love... just limp home mode and won't start. Replaced orig ecm after cleaning and same error code. Will put back together and drag it in to the dealer for them to troubleshoot and repair. Then... will sell it. I am moving up to a gently used 2014 RTS that I...

P0351 error and Check Engine Light on - any help/advice?

I have gotten a used working ECM from a vendor on eBay... from same year and model of Spyder RS (2010 SM5). More exploring leads me to believe that the key will be rendered non-working using a different ECM. Is there a way for someone with BUDS to clone my old ECM's settings? I have doubts that...

P0351 error and Check Engine Light on - any help/advice?

Thanks Freddy... will travel that path next. Also, does anyone know if the ECM needs to be 2010 RS specific or is the same part used across years? Starting to search for one on Ebay as that's about the only place I've seen them this many years out from production of a 2010 RS Spyder. I'll let...

P0351 error and Check Engine Light on - any help/advice?

Well... we're down to the ECM as the next fun thing to try before dragging it beyond me. New coil and wires and plugs - no love. Still firing on one cylinder only. How do I remove the ECM from under the dash? Anyone remember on the RS how to release things there? Sigh. Thanks for all the...

P0351 error and Check Engine Light on - any help/advice?

Won the battle - new plugs/wires! Still got a check engine light tho. Replacing the coil next and then the ECM. Anyone know if an ECM swap needs BUDS to reprogram it in? Thanks.... From a Guy with greasy hands and a few less bottles of beer. :) Thanks for the help!

P0351 error and Check Engine Light on - any help/advice?

Is there any secret to getting the thing out of there? I have it loose but cannot slide it out. Giving up for the night before my language turns foul.
