• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Things are Falling Apart

There is list of potential issues. Besides improper oil level affecting shifting; vacuum hoses seem to be a component dealers do not check when servicing. They become brittle and crack due to heat within a fairly short time. Any leaks in those and you'll have shifting problems with the SE5...

New England Can am dealers just don't seem to want to sell this product :(

If only it were that easy to just simply state profit in a flat dollar amount. You seem to be forgetting quite a bit -- time value of money comes to mind. Besides... I am not in favor of anyone telling anyone else what they should or should not make in profit. Geez... Maybe we should have a...

New England Can am dealers just don't seem to want to sell this product :(

Where I live, you pay state sales tax on the difference between the trade-in value and the final sale price. No trade-in and you are paying sales tax on the entire sales price. With my last vehicle purchase it was worth it to trade-in the old vehicle than to sell it outright. There was a...

mikes famous harley davidson and can-am dealership. in new london ct. question

I own and ride an HD and a Spyder. Not so uncommon for HD riders to talk to me about my Spyder. Many are interested in them. Certainly some are "too cool" to be caught dead looking at or riding one; but for the most part many are interested in them. However, I do notice the waving is varied...

    2015 lineup rumors?

For those who do not like what a leaning trike can do, how it does it, and the added fun it provides; I suggest you simply look at the Piaggio scooter. It has been out for several years and has been a huge success for the company. A leaning Spyder would appeal to many in my opinion --...

Got it... I was just a little slow on picking that up. Less than 8K is unacceptable by anyone's standards. 8K however, is in line with most motorcycle tires if you ride longer, twisted/curvy routes frequently (Increased and prolonged tire temps, and friction wear causing sooner wear out)...

New England Can am dealers just don't seem to want to sell this product :(

Nothing more than what Bob said. Some dealers can be jerks and put you last in line with service or parts. Not sure what your state's laws are, but here there is not any laws forcing a franchise dealership to work on anything. This remains a somewhat free country yet. BRP's dealer...

    2015 lineup rumors?

I understand what you are saying now; however I can tell you BRP thought their first iterations of the Spyder would appeal to the sport-bike, jet-ski, ATC, and snow-mobile crowd (younger-crowd) -- not the +55 market. Price likely influenced initial sales to the under-55 market (as was stated on...

BRP . . . An Open Comment To You

Motorcycle tires do not last long... Most motorcyclists know they usually last anywhere from 6-8k before needing to be changed. Some put car tires on their motorcycle rear wheel; and a few braver souls also put one on the front. Not me though. I like the soft motorcycle tire for traction...

    2015 lineup rumors?

:hun: Can you tell me how "they" skewed the market? Or how any company can skew the market? Market/demographic research data, I work with, shows the demand is strongest for touring-type machines. The 55+ crowd has the most wealth in the U.S. and their preference clearly indicates a want for...

    Moderately Priced Rain Gear

Leatherup.com Go to their rain gear page. Look up the Xelement rain suits. Buy one of the $59/$60 orange/black or green/black rain suits. They are of really good quality equal to suits twice the price.

    Do's and Do Not's

:roflblack: Not laughing so much at your misfortune, but rather that you ended-up in a situation you didn't intend on being in -- that and the fact you made it through safe. If you were injured or such, no laughing would occur. As SpyderAnn said; it is those adventures you'll remember most...

    Potential New Spyder Owner

I own both an Ultra-Limited 2014 (one of a few HD's over the years); and a 2011 RTS Spyder. I have put a decent number of miles on a 2014 RTS 1330 to know its characteristics well enough to speak about it. My guess is you are going to like some features of a traditional trike over the Spyder...

Got my order in today for the Elio!

:agree: Anyone thinking there is actually going to be an Elio for sale on the market is dreaming -- unfortunately. So far, he keeps taking people's money though, and people keep sending it to him; which I find completely mind-boggling.
