• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What’s your best memory/story (so far) with your Spyder/Ryker ??

For me, it would have to be my very first ryde. Haven’t had any long-distance trips to speak of ….

Another Fuel Door Install; 2014 Spyder RTS

I've actually considered doing this, but was afraid it would burn my g/f's legs should it be her turn behind the handlebars. You guessed it: she's on the short side, lol.

Oil Change. How Important Is Temperature?

This. IMHO, draining it warm is more beneficial because to the reasons listed above. I usually take my vehicles out for a quick 12 mile/10 minute jaunt prior to changing the oil. It's warm, but not scalding.

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

I carefully stroked it like I would a loyal Labrador Retriever and said, "Good Spyder" ....

Question Solved: What is the Best Can-Am On road bYke for me :)

Answer: All of them. They each serve a specific riding purpose, LOL.

Did you consider a Piaggio MP3 before getting a Spyder?

IMHO, either get a 2-wheeler or a REAL honest-to-goodness trike. This Piaggio seems to sit in the middle ........ which to me is a compromise. IOW, it doesn't do one particular thing really well. Good luck !!

F3 Ltd vs RT Ltd - does one feel less heat than the other?

The RT has more panels than the F3 to shield heat away by design or by function (better airflow at speed). I suppose the only real way to find out is to test ride the models and discover first-hand, but I'm *guessing* you will feel less heat with the RT ........ though I could be wrong. Let us...

    R.I.P. Barney's Dealerships

Used to live in Inverness and work in Hudson YEARS ago, so I'm familiar with Barney's. Thanks for the heads-up on the current dealership. It's always good to have knowledge on dealerships that deliver shoddy workmanship and unprofessional service.

Your experience/thoughts on Spyder vs Other Trikes?

To be honest, I don't think there is a trike that's easier to use than a semi-automatic Spyder. Paddle shift, automatic downshifting, an inherent "reverse-trike" design that outmaneuvers, outbrakes and has a real reverse than the trikes made by Honda or HD, to me the choice is clearly obvious...

Pre purchase on a 2011 RT - Guide me along here please!

Excuse my ignorance, but can a bike "run well" when "pretty much all the trouble indicators come on - engine, ABS, and the power steering" ?? Like any mechanical device, bikes don't fair well if they have been collecting dust for a few years. I would pass on this project, because IMHO, it's...

What's your helmet of choice? Show us??

I wear a AGV 3/4 "aviation helmet" style in camo when I'm by myself. My g/f and I wear matching HJC modular helmets outfitted with the Cardo Freecom 4+ intercom system.

What is a good way of Talking To my Passenger - helmets or add-ons?

I absolutely LOVE my Cardo. We have the Freecom 4+, and after watching countless YouTube vids on various intercom systems, I feel this was the best at the time of purchase about 2 years ago. Check out my review of it...

40K miles so far - how many miles will a 1330 engine RT last?

Engine/drivetrain-wise, it should last well over 100k miles if you keep up with the maintenance. It's the other stuff you need to worry about ....

Any idea what this bracket is?

When I was installing my Utopia backrest for my '18 RTL, I had to install a bracket that was very similar to that.

I have a problem with Dishonest Dealers!

When my boat was scheduled for a 50 hr inspection, I took it to a dealership. I made it a point to put a black dot with a felt pen on both the fuel and oil filters. They had my boat for a couple of days. When they said it was ready to be picked up, I decided to check to see if they indeed...

What's with all these BS fees?!

I love it when they check my credit rating and see that I have a stellar number, because the dealership knows that I am a serious buyer. When we go over the sales contract, I make sure to do a line-by-line item check to see if they'll charge me such BS fees. I adamantly say, "Nope, not gonna...

    Cost of Oil Change

Heh, I didn't even realize I was responding to such an old post. I still stand by my suggestion though. Having a bunch of DIYers in your riding group can be beneficial ........ and fun.
