• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

Greetings all! My handle is one I created years ago and decided to use it here. It is arguably arrogant in nature; my lifelong careers were so diverse that I feel I can fix anything; DIY should be my middle name. My RIP dad (rocket scientist) put us on the moon, and taught me sooo much, he...

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

Totally agree! Six years now on my '18 and the women comment 50:1 over men; all are smiling when they ask, yes, waaay fun to ride (and more comfortable than my 'ol Bonneville.)

Towing - To cover, or not to cover?

Now there's a thought but I had to think a bit, did he replace the axle with all-thread, no! I just replaced my rear tire and, now that I recall, the rear axle IS hollow, correct? Do you remove the custom rod each time or is this a permanent configuration (which I would expect and desire)? I...

    Random thought for the day

I'm not retired, I'm on PV (permanent vacation)!

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Just got back from a two-month trip down South. Myrtle Beach, Savannah/Tybee Island, Helen (GA), Huntsville, Pensacola, Jekyll Island, Myrtle Beach, and home. Riding in the winter months is great, but much nicer when its 75° outside! Only one bad (decision) turn (at dusk and in heavy fog!)...

Towing - To cover, or not to cover?

Just finished three months of towing on the Stinger... Spyder uncovered, five-thousand miles total! Some of this was in frog-choking downpours and so far no appreciable damage. The worst I've seen was a very dirty (gritty/sand-sized deposits) all over the Spyder from the downpour that required...

Comment by 'doncanfix2' in media 'In dash volt meter with dual USB ports'

I installed (actually replaced) the OEM unit in the trunk of my '18 RT with the same/similar unit. I also had to change a setting (if I recall, a fuse re-location) so power was always on when the key was off. I use mine for charging phones and Sena intercom units... and the observation of...

Missing - Jokes! So I'll just start a thread.

But Math is not for the faint of brain... math is calculus, simultaneous differential equations, boolean logic, etc. I think (IMHO) - in most cases it is simpler than Math, it's arithmetic! (You may quote me!) 👨‍🏫 Enjoy your weekend one and all!

An oldie but a goodie. This one came from the dry humor of my dad, more on that later. What is 2/3 of a pun? PU ( made you scroll!)🙃

    '18 RTL Dark Edition

Tows behind our motorhome when traveling on a '21 Stinger (with many upgrades). Everything (when possible) I do is DIY. Otherwise, Ryan in Hanover is my guy! On a waiting list for the NHTSA output shaft recall... wondering how necessary this really is... already had the front sprocket done.

Missing - Jokes! So I'll just start a thread.

So is that your Shiba? So funny, they all have such personalities! Our current, Brooks (haven't yet got her companion, & Dunn) plays dead, or does it just seem that way? I memorialized our first (Elvis) in this framed pic, he's no longer "in the house". We've broken all the rules, or should I...

Towing - To cover, or not to cover?

A worthy thought indeed Mikey, appreciated! Agreed, the tupperware (ABS plastic) is quite soft, as are the (now) water-based paints. I did a lot of research on this choice prior to getting a Stinger, with the full knowledge of what the roadster would be exposed to. 60 years of being on the...

Missing - Jokes! So I'll just start a thread.

Enjoyed many of these in this thread so I thought I'd contribute. This one's not as much of a joke, but funny nonetheless to anyone who knows the breed. My vet shared this one with me during those dark days! If you like this one I have a few more! Enjoy!

    Review: JT Motorsport; Frederick, MD.

Yep, Tammy too, nice to find true customer service! (y)(y) I give her and Ryan two each! Purchased mine in VA from Motomember. Not sure how they are now but back then the pre-delivery inspection was clearly (IMHO) not done as well as it should have been. The factory-provided (?) sheet was...

    Review: JT Motorsport; Frederick, MD.

Hey Copper! Just stumbled on this again when I was looking for MD riding clubs. I live very close to JT and (years ago) I had multiple experiences with the service manager. Story goes, when I first got my roadster back in 2019 I went to them for warranty work to replace the LH handlebar switch...

Towing - To cover, or not to cover?

I'm also researching getting a flat tow, and I see Roadmaster and others have an expanse of material that spans the width of - and is supported by - the tow bar to reduce the hazard; worth looking into. Given time, you will pick up a ding and that first one hurts the most. If you are on the...

Towing - To cover, or not to cover?

So many great thoughts from everyone, thanks!! But more thoughts on that later! However on the tie-down method, I found this has worked great for the front! My initial method was using straps, but that has its limitations so I went with turnbuckles; all hardware is 304SS. Since the Stinger...

Towing - To cover, or not to cover?

Hello All towing enthusiasts! I've read the previous threads on this topic so please don't ping me on that! A year ago I bought a gently used '21 Stinger (Thanks again John M.) to haul the RT behind our motorhome. Now that I have some experience doing that, uncovered as most recommend, I see the...
