• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Newbie to Spyders - I've just bought a 2012 RS Roadster! Have I done the right thing?!

Give yourself time to get used to the Spyder. It took me a while to get used to not feeling for the clutch and NOT counter-steering. So what I suggest is counter pushing with your legs. Let you legs keep you vertical. Left hand turn push (counter!) with the Right leg! After a bit of time, this...

10 year parts law - will parts for the 1330 engine/trans still be available into 2036?

I have heard this same quote all my life. And I used to believe it also. Per Steve Lehto, Consumer Attorney (and on Youtube), specializing in the Lemon Law in Michigan, there is not a law that says this. Can you share where this statute is located? I have owned two Spyders over the past five...

Buying our first Spyder in the Spring - what should I be looking for?

I am on my second Spyder. Something I did not know when I purchased my first one in 2021 (a six month old F3 limited with 500 miles on it) was how to check the oil level properly. These engines are a dry sump oil system. You DO NOT CHECK THE OIL LEVEL when cold or after sitting a couple of...

Complete Newbie Experiences - 2021 RT Limited

It took me quite a while to overcome muscle memory of counter steering. So give yourself some time to get accustomed to the Spyder. Now I call my steering "counter pushing" meaning if I am taking a left hand turn I push with the opposite leg. I had read one suggestion using the cloverleafs on...

How Many Ride an RT Limited After The 5 years Of BRP Warranty Has Expired?

For me, I will ryde it until it dies. I don't worry about warranties at all. This is my second Spyder and I don't see anything extra-ordinary that might keep it from running for a long, long time. I do my own service work and these Spyder's are not too bad to work on generally (especially...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

My 2023 RTL is the same way, no split pin. No problems without it and I am on my third tire. Don't worry about it. And a "just for what's worth" note, when I change out the rear tire I will back off the adjusters an even 10 turns on each bolt. (you can use whatever number you easily...

    Just Joined the Family

Be sure to read the owner's manual cover to cover a few times, ESPECIALLY how to check the oil level! The Rotax 1330 engine has a dry sump oiling system. For a new owner it is easy to overfill. NEVER CHECK THE ENGINE OIL AFTER SITTING ANY PERIOD OF TIME (like overnight) - NEVER. The manual says...

    Hidden Surcharges shouldn't be allowed!

Here's was we ALL should do: Ask for a total list of SURCHARGES that may be included in any service. My wife purchased some fabric at a quilt store about 5 months ago. At the bottom of the receipt was tarriff fee of about 3 dollars! The tarriffs had not even gone into effect when she...

2023 RT - What do you guys get for miles between Brake Pad Replacements?

Only about 13-14k miles. My 2023 RT-L had the first set at 13k miles and I am feeling a warped right front rotor now at 28k miles. Today I shall pull the front tires to look at how much pad is left. I am pretty easy on the brakes so it does not make sense why the short life span of the pads...

When, if ever, was a belt dampener factory-installed on the F3's?

My former 2020 F3-L did not have a belt dampener on it. My current 2023 RT-L had one and the bearing wore out by 15,000 miles! I took it off and feel zero difference in vibration. For me, I won't have a dampener that could leave me stranded that also is of no assistance in dampening vibrations.

1330cc Can I change the Transmission Filter without dumping the oil?

BUDS is not required nor needed for HCM filter replacement. I have done it and it is not a hard job to do.

What are your thoughts on Magic Mirrors or Magnetic Mirror mounts for a 2016 RT Limited?

Several weekends ago I traveled to a friends house to show him how to do an oil change on his 2016 RTl. I also was concerned about the mirrors. I was pleasantly surprised he had magnetic mirror magnets on. I was nicely pleased how easily they came off and reinstalled with the magnets. I rode...

    Random thought for the day

. This reminds me of a time around 25 years ago, when I was in a college library, studying. I overheard a young couple discussing a problem they were having. The couple were not able to locate how many Honda Civics were sold during a specific year in the 1970's. Search engines weren't quite as...

87 Octane seems to work just fine

Something I do notice when I run 93 octane is this: The 1330 engine in my RT shifts nicer! I don't quite understand why but it is enough for me to continue to run high octane fuel. I check my milage with every fill up (actual milage/gallons used) and there is zero difference between any...

Do Tinted Helmet Visors diminish your ability to see out in the dark/night?

I purchased a "tinted" visor for my Shoei helmet around two months ago. It acts more like sunglasses to me. I do not like using it during night riding which is not that frequent. I like riding with my visor up with sunglasses on, but also I like the wind in the face. Just my 2¢

Getting close to decision time. I need some input from those who have ridden an F3-L and RTL?

I have owned both the F3 Limited, a 2020, & currently 2023 RT limited. I ryde 99% of the time 1 up. I liked the F3 sitting better than my RT, but also I am a foot shorter than you, so keep that in mind. On a Spyder "short reach bars" are an oxymoron in name. Short reach bars are for the...
