• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    No Competition for Can Am

But I wonder if when he turns 50 or 60, he will want a $30K Goldwing. Isn't that the natural progression? Smaller, economical bikes for younger folks and then they move up to larger, most costly and more comfortable bikes as they grow older.

Considering 2023 or 2024 RT Sea-to-Sky - some questions to help me decide/commit??

I love technology and I am a sucker for things that beep and light up. That being said, I think the Carplay on the 24 is cool, but not really worth the extra money. You can do any of it with a handle bar mount for your phone or a nice Garmin. Also, when you start moving, the touchscreen...

    Electric Spyder next?

Battery lives in hybrids are much better than in EVs. This is because the computer controls how and when the battery is charged to prolong its life. In a pure EV, the battery is filled based on usage which shortens the battery life.

    Electric Spyder next?

This is a very good point and what I have tried to explain to others in the past. Batteries are great technology for the right use, like cell phones, etc. where one can easily charge in the existing infrastructure. A Gas powered phone would be heavy, noisy, and loud. Likewise, a car, because...

    Electric Spyder next?

Range and recharging time is everything. Likely 100 mile range and hours of charge time. That won't fit my riding style at all.

    I test rode a 2023 today!

how about no hands? At 70, I love to reach both arms back to the rear hand grips and stretch my shoulders out. I can ride for a quarter of a mile like this on a straight stretch of road.

Answered the Question about Belt Life on My Spyder!

I still think belt life spans totally outweigh chain drives any day. And smooth, chatter free riding.

So... Q? for those who get off the tar with a 1330.

A little off topic, but one of the things I like most about my RTL is how easy it is to stand up while riding, So when I am on gravel or hard packed dirt roads, I can easily inspect the immediate road ahead and make adjustments when necessary.

Did a little experimenting with MPGs

I went for an 8 hour ride this weekend and am still learning my 2021 RT Limited. Basically, I learned that with constant speeds from 30 - 55 mph, I can get 40 - 41 mpg per the computer. There was no difference if I was going 30 or 55 mph. Once I hit 60 mph to 38 65 and over, down to about...

    Video of 2024 touchscreen

I went riding yesterday for 8 hours and contemplated the new screen on the 24s vs my Garmin GPS mounted between my handlebars. I had never noticed how much I touch the Garmin and either zoom in our out or swipe while I am riding to help me see further up. With the new Car Play, you can't...
