• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This is how I still have Dry feet!

Ok, so my wife and I have waterproof boots, but in heavy rain the water flows up the boot, inside the over pants and gets into the boots from the top and makes your pants lowers all wet. So I bought these cheep knee hghv waterproof boot and shin covers to put over your boots and under your...

Is training really needed to ride a Spyder?

I work on the basis that you might get to the same level as taking a course, but the course accelerates getting to that level of comfort and proficiency. This reduces the chance something bad might happen during the extended period of gaining the experience. Here in Utah you can ride a Spyder or...

    ACS solenoid releasing air constantly

That’s weird. I thought it was supposed to balance things automatically. You could try turning the bike and sit on it, then get a passenger to sit on the back. Does it add air? When they get off does it let air out? Or, it might be worth looking in manual as I’ve no idea if it has to be in gear...

    Well, this weather sucks!

Finally it was nice yesterday in the Salt Lake Valley, it said it might be nice all week. Trouble is we need the rain or snow for the water, it's going to be another year of bad drought it seems so far.

How often do you upgrade/replace your helmets?

I'm sure the actual longevity of a helmet depends on a lot of factors: exposure to UV, heat, cold, storage location over the winter, humidity, frequency of wearing it, how it is treated, how much you sweat in it and so on and so forth. My suspicion is the manufacturers and industry regulatory...

How often do you upgrade/replace your helmets?

I only use them for no more than 5 years from the date of manufacture, so I tend to order them, usually from the dealer, rather than buy them off the shelf stock. This generally means they are much closer to their manufacture date when I get them. The interior breaks down and the bright Utah sun...

    Where is the Spyder's CoG?

I don’t think anything that chocks in front of and behind the wheel is going to allow the Spyder enough ability to roll back over them in reverse if they are of any decent size. With an e-track system you can loop from the floor, over the front tire, back down to the floor, through a loop and...

    Scrapped my ELKA shocks

I think my stock shocks aren’t that bad at all. Sure they are a tad soft, allowing for a little more roll than I might want, but they are bad enough to want to bother with swapping them. Perhaps when they expire I’ll go the Ikon route. Same with the tires. I know people complain about the OEM...

    ACS solenoid releasing air constantly

Wow, with stuff flailing around inside it’s a wonder it hadn’t eaten itself up. Fantastic that you could fix it. Yes, I’d put the new one in and put the old one aside just in case. I don’t know whether they come with a warranty but I’d tape the receipt of the new one to the old one. That’s just...

Do you feel the Can-Am course benefited you significantly* ??

I was going to return the thing until after that course. When I learned what it could really do, rather than what I felt it could do, I was much happier. I've been riding 2 wheels for nearly 50 years and I just didn't get it, why was it such a twitchy evil handling thing? Of course, it wasn't...

Is training really needed to ride a Spyder?

I did it just go to get familiar with the controls, lack of front brake, no counter steering, semi auto shifting, no clutch, and no left foot gear shift. It helped me figure out the inherent limits of the machine. Despite being in a parking lot, it was surprisingly challenging and helped me...

Anyone received their 2022 Spyder or news on Delivery, Delays, & Omissions?

If you think dealers are making a markup on Spyders, Jaguar Land Rover had a 15% markup on the only new Range Rover they had on the floor at my local dealer. That's $28,000 dollars folks, thank you very much. That's like the price of a Spyder in markup. When I bought my 2021 RT LTD last August...

Is training really needed to ride a Spyder?

For $99 and a few hours of your time, I don't think the training can be beat. The community college wanted $299 if booked directly through them, same course $99 through Can Am. I have ridden bikes for nearly 50 years, a lot of ingrained habits to unlearn. I went from "I'm going to take this evil...

    ACS solenoid releasing air constantly

Well, it could well be the system is trying to continually lower the bike as it doesn't have all the logic inputs and it thinks it is raised too high. If the rear wheel is just hanging in the air on your stand this would definitely lead the system to try and lower the ride height continuously...

1330cc Is it going faster now?

ECO mode has always been off, but thanks for the heads up. I think after riding it today it is that it has gotten a bit smoother as it has run in. As I spin it up now it is more willing to rev, as in turn I'm probably more willing to rev it. When it was new it had this rough spot at just around...

    Review: IKON shock review

I used to use their shocks when I think they were another company in a former life. I think they used to be called Koni and were famous for their "Dial-a-Rides" with a red damping adjuster wheel at the top of the shocks. I used to use them on an air-cooled BMW R100 and a Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans...

Suspension Failure on new 2021 RT Limited.

Well mine spent 5 months at the dealer with rear suspension failure issues from new. OK, lots of time waiting for parts, but the weather stopped the final solutions from being tested anyway. Not really the dealers fault. Look on the dash at the code history and see if it is throwing code C210A...

What is that underneath my Spyder?

If I replaced the muffler, at my wife's request, with something smaller, nicer looking and expensive but ANNOYINGLY LOUD, my wife would immediately tell me to take it all off and put the fugly quieter one back on... It doesn't matter either way to me, I take my hearing aids out to put my helmet...

1330cc Is it going faster now?

Thanks - I guess as I get older things just seem to go faster. I'm still surprised that it moves as fast as it does though, with only 115 BHP pushing 1,400 lbs ridden 2 up, it must be the mid range torque.

1330cc Is it going faster now?

OK, so my '21 Spyder RT LTD I bought new, I'm beginning to start to get some miles on it (it was on vacation at the dealer for nearly 5 months but we won't rehash that). Just over 1,500 miles now. It seems to accelerate much more quickly, especially when winding it on a bit on freeway entrance...
