• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just need confirmation before I use my tools ! Air compressor bypass.

Your local Biltema store might know what speed bleeders you might need. They also stock vacuum bleeding systems. My Norwegian isn't up to much, well it isn't up to anything, but from what I can tell from their website they stock all kinds of things that might work for bleeding brakes. They...

Anyone heard any Rumors on 2024 Spyders, All models?

I wonder how Covid affected those plans? Also, I really wonder about electric motive systems for jet skis. Water and electricity have traditionally not played well together. Should be interesting to see how they solve all the issues of range, weight and charging across the model range. 2026 is...

Might just try a snow tire ...

Now I notice the Goodyear Eagles Ultra Grips come in quite a few types, some snow, some all weather and some mostly performance versions. I know my wife’s Mustang GT is a bit of a pig on pure snows in really hot weather, it understeers badly and has trouble putting the power down. It’s like the...

Might just try a snow tire ...

Like I said, that’s my experience with them. Like you said, I might have the good fortune of having a decent pair. I didn’t say they were brilliant, but in my limited experience they were ok, a bit like the Pirrelli Phantoms on my Triumph T120. OEM fitments, even on cars these days tend to be a...

Might just try a snow tire ...

For police sales there seems to be quite a few varieties of Goodyear Eagle Ultra Grips. I don’t think I would be running the snow or ice versions though, with 100 degree temps here I’d run mud and snow all weathers, but snow and ice versions I’m not so sure. The manufacturers don’t recommend it...

Oil - why would you use Rotella T6, a diesel oil, in your Spyder?

The synthetic blend won't affect the difference between 5W and 10W ratings though, but it is curious that BRP only specifies a synthetic blend in 5W40 especially with a 9,300 mile change interval. Like you say it is NOT fully synthetic (but nearly priced like one). A fully synthetic oil will...

ACE 1330 - What RPM do you cruise??

I don't really look at the rev counter very often to be honest. On the freeway I usually cruise at 70 mph or so in top gear, perhaps 75-80 mph in the 80 mph speed limit sections, the engine seems happy enough - very smooth. On acceleration I think peak torque seems to be well below peak power so...

Oil - why would you use Rotella T6, a diesel oil, in your Spyder?

The number before the W is the winter weight, how the oil flows at cold temperatures, for instance if you are starting up from very cold in winter. Once your engine is up to operating temperature the oil will be flowing at the heavier 40 weight specification. I never start mine from cold below...

Shell Rotella T6 Out of Stock! Any available? Any Alternatives?

For me, as long as it is a name brand, correct weight and specification and changed at about 5,000 mile intervals in this hostile climate I live in - I don’t much care beyond that. I don’t have much brand loyalty, the bike will outlive me I think. After all it is a dry sump motor with a large...

Anyone used Redline Synthetic Oil? Any length of change improvements?

Looking in the service manual it says change the oil every 9,300 miles or annually. Now I notice pegasus1300, you are living in Utah, like me. I think this is what some of my other motorcycle and car manufacturers call a "hostile environment" in their handbooks. We live at 5,000 feet or...

I feel like being taken for a ride (not a good ride) trying to decipher true cost..

I am glad in a certain way that I bought my Spyder RT LTD in August of last year. Admittedly I paid 2021 MSRP but I got a good price on my trade (what I was asking for), no commodity surcharge, reasonable PDI/doc fees etc - and a fair price on the extended warranty too. They were selling out...

    Mesh jacket recommendations

My wife and I use Klim jackets. They seem to be good quality and work well. You can get them from CycleGear, some BMW dealers etc. Most of the Klim stuff seems well made, not the cheapest, but seems to last well.

Where to purchase Kenda Kanine rear tire?

Yes, people apparently have been known to fit the 165/65r15 KR20s to Smart cars. Smarts have used an almost infinite variety of tire sizes (and wheel sizes) in various models since they first came out. I would imagine 4 KR20s would be OK for tire loading as the Smart car is not much more than...

Where to purchase Kenda Kanine rear tire?

The apparently superior Kenda Kanine KR20 tire is imported and distributed by Tucker.com. They have hundreds of dealers across the nation. You can see the list of dealers on their website. Maybe at least one of the Tucker dealers nearest you has the tire, or can get it from one of the...

Shop time for no Reverse - The long wait is almost over!

My left hand switch gear all works with a moderate level of force, just the level of force you would expect. It feels the same on mine as on previous Triumphs and BMWs. If you have to put anything but the level of pressure your brain would expect, compared to the right hand cluster, I would...

    Mixing Oil in RT

From what I have read, Fully Synthetic is a marketing term which may well be blended with mineral oil in some unstated proportion. I also have read, that therm to be looking for is 100% synthetic, which I'm led to believe is 100% synthetic oil and 100% synthetic additives. Of course, who knows...

Reverse Not Working Intermittently (Reverse Actuator Assembly)

I saw in another thread, the author was looking for a reverse actuator and the dealer in Erie PA helped him find the "back ordered" part. The dealer's website was: https://www.offroaderie.com/ Perhaps they may be able to assist you in the same way? Sounds like decent people.

2012 spyder RT been in the shop over 9 months

Well, that seems a little more like the kind of service we appreciate from a dealer. I'll be sure to keep them in mind when ordering things. Always good to support dealers going the extra mile for us.

Recommend any Wind deflectors for 2020 RT?

Yes, so did my 2021 RTL, and it has an upper and lower pair of small fixed deflectors too. Not sure if they were a dealer option or not, but the combination seems to work quite well. A lot less buffeting than bikes I've owned with full fairings in the past. I find it works best if I set the...
