• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Replacing rear rotor, anything to look out for?

FYI, the rotor bolts are slathered with Yellow Loctite and are a B*tch to loosen if they haven't been removed before... You would be better off getting & using an impact driver with the correct bit on it vs a standard ratchet to get them broken loose. You may find the bolts feel like they seize...

Is The Rotax 990 An Interference Engine?

Sorry, but if the engine is an interference type, your chances of NOT having engine damage is higher than winning the lottery!! That is why they are designated as interference in the first place. The inertia of the bottom end is going to assure there is damage since there will always be valves...

I have crossed over from the dark side

Sounds just like what happened to me. With the loss of core strength from a Flail Chest and subsequent plates/screws, I was banned from 2 wheels by the Doc and went searching for a Spyder. It will be an adjustment if you have never done any Quad riding but not a big deal to come to grips with...

1330cc Getting P0406 code on my 2016 RTL - anyone else? Any ideas?

That code isn't in either list of codes that I have... It doesn't even show up in the Service Manual!

Strange coolant problem - fans continuously cycling. Any suggestions?

It really sounds like an air pocket but seeing that it was many miles ago and IF the coolant level is correct etc etc, then I vote for a bad sensor as well... You could always just verify there is no air by using the bleeder on the front of the block and a clear hose. Drain into a catch device...

    Messing with a muffler

For a lot of us, it is NOT about being heard. It is about having an exhaust note that we WANT to hear ourselves... OP: Congrats on your endeavor! I went down a similar path getting my Akra/RLS system tweaked to just how I LOVE it!! ;-)

Are there any Mirror stiffeners for an F3-S?

Come to think of it now, I have read about a couple of folks whose mirrors were missing the rubber base mounting gaskets! This prevents them from being tightened up snugly properly...

Are these torque specs for rear axle, rotor, & calipers correct?

BE CAREFUL with those rotor bolts!! They have a ****load of yellow loctite on them and will strip fairly easily! You will have better luck with an impact driver to loosen them than a ratchet... May even need some heat...

Are there any Mirror stiffeners for an F3-S?

That is odd! Mine have been solid from day one... Have you checked the mounting bolts for them and tightened if needed? Or are you talking about the glass itself? Again, I can't recall anyone having issues with the F3S mirrors coming loose or falling out...

Fitted a new Kumho Ecsta AST to the rear, what pressure is recommended?

You have to remember that every tire out there will get circumferential growth at speed... This inherently makes the center wear on a "lighter" vehicle... I run 14psi cold on mine and it warms to 16.5 running and I am STILL getting more center wear on my Yoko...

Lithium Ion batteries and winter storage

My statement was more toward "IN the bike or car or whatever"... They take temperature extremes and changes better etc... They discharge more evenly and recover easier when hooked up to a maintainer...

Lithium Ion batteries and winter storage

LiFePo are MORE resilient to storage than AGM/LA units... I would def use the maintainer for sure as there is no reason not to. It is better to avoid discharge and repetition of it as well as it will keep the cells "balanced" in their state of charge... In the beginning some had an initially...

Doing a Fuel injector replacement - what are these brass bits for?

Weird! Kinda looks like Air bleed screws for idle trim?

What's with this Coolant Overflow? Expanding/purging after shut-down?

You could be fighting with "air pockets" in the system, then when the system "purges" one of these and it returns to the reservoir, it can "burp" the cap and take some coolant with it... Most don't know that there is an actual BLEEDER on the front of the engine block that can be used to purge...
