• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Route planning for GPS

Basecamp is good once you master it - but most find the learning curve too frustrating. I've used Tyre since before BC. It's much easier to use and the basic is free. I'm currently using over 16 custom routes, all hundreds of miles long, totaling over 4,300 miles. Created them in Tyre easily...

    GPS to plan my route.

[emoji106] for the route planning program Tyre (TyretoTravel). It is very easy to use with either a Garmin or Tom Tom. The basic program is free, but for just a few dollars the enhanced versions provide more features and utilities. I use it to transfer routes to my Zumo 665. Sent from my...

    Rain Suit?

I want to give a huge [emoji106] to Bajaron on his customer service and pricing. I needed a new rain suit, chose to get a Firstgear Sierra Day Glo and Ron had the best price of anyone, anywhere. I ordered it Friday. It arrived yesterday. I wore it in a powerful downpour late yesterday afternoon...

    trailering a spyder

When I trailer the Spyder, I do it the same as the tractor or car. Parking brake on, 4 axle straps through the wheels and 4 ratchet straps (1 each on the fronts, 2 on the rear, all 4 going at diagonals to the hooks at the 4 corners of the trailer and wheel chocks screwed to the trailer floor...

    replacement tire for 2012 RT

I've never had decent performance out of Kenda's on either my previous RS (27K miles) or my current RT (30K miles).. The most I could get out of Kenda's was 7-8K miles. I ran General's on the front of my RS for awhile. They seemed to wear better, but just didn't like the feel. I've ordered the...

How do you ride most often?

99% of my ryding time is solo, by myself. I rarely ryde in groups. I relish the alone time, the ability to go, stop and get lost whenever I want. I wander a lot. Many of my best rydes and encounters were those unplanned. Priceless!

    Aftermarket seat info

Just a different suggestion here. I had my previous RS and current RT seats modified by Astech. It was very reasonable and was done in a few hours. http://www.astechseat.com

Can't decide between a Spyder RT or a Harley/Honda Trike. HELP

Ditto on Posts 1-5. I went through the same mental process in 2010. After months of riding and re-riding each, I pulled the trigger on an 09 RS. I put 27K on it and bought a 12 RT. it has almost 35K. I never looked back. The Spyders have been 2 of the best investments I've made in life. I also...

General Observation - DESS error reports seem to be growing recently!

It's not just 14 & 15's. DESS issue struck my 2012 RT last August. Removing the key and walking away for a bit cured the error and it always started. Making the module changes is a big undertaking. It took several hours to complete.

    Helmet and comms device

I chose Nolan helmets and use their N-Com system, with BT. I can do it all via the buttons on my helmet. Battery life is 10-12 hours. It's in its 4th year and I love it.

I'm hard on sunglasses and don't need scripts, so I buy Maxx or Bobster. Good optics and very reasonably priced.

    Do You...

Oh, yea, a 10 mile trip to the hardware store, e.g., can last hours and hours, involving untold miles. I wander when on the Spyder no matter where it's headed. [emoji41]

    What with this code???

Last Fall I was getting intermittent "check engine" warnings. In a couple of instances it would not start until the key was removed, etc.. The code was 2530. It was a DESS issue. BRP suggests 2 components be changed at the same time. Replacing the one on the right side handlebar was simple...
