• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Searching for seals/flat ring on rear brake caliper piston - RT 2010

To the OP and others, the early Spyder brakes were not made by Brembo. Both front and rear were Chinese made units. The fronts were rough copies of the Brembo brake, but the rear was and remains a non-Brembo unit. Whether or not Brembo parts fit or not, I don't know. I do know the current...

Searching for seals/flat ring on rear brake caliper piston - RT 2010

IIRC, the rear brake caliper on the early Spyders (and possibly current) were the same as the Ural motorcycle sidecar version, so you could take a poke around and see if that helps.

ECM and 50.1 Dash Firmware Update - BRP Notification Info Needed?

In the past whenever there was a revised version of the firmware BRP's position was the updated firmware was specific to the year of manufacture of the product and would not update older models. I can't say if that holds true for every update and every year, but that was my previous experience.

Anyone Replaced their front pulley (sprocket) using the old bolt? Pro's & Con's??

I pulled mine on my new 2020 to check and see if the spine came with lube (it did, but not much), relubricated the spine shaft, cleaned the bolt and reinstalled using loctite. No worries. Some people have posted in the past that it was a one-time only part. Without being a material engineer...

New Guy on Left Coast - looking at buying a Ryker or maybe Spyder, but which model?

From what your describing, it sounds like the ST variant would be closest to your desires.

2016 RT - any suggestions for a longer lasting rear tire? estimated mileage?

Your rear tire mileage is similar to what I've experienced traveling throughout the Western US, especially Commiefornia. The best mileage I've gotten out of rear tire so far is the Cooper CS5 Utra Touring. It's a fairly hard rubber tire (640 UTQG), but I never noticed any difficulties in...

New Guy on Left Coast - looking at buying a Ryker or maybe Spyder, but which model?

Rich, I agree a Spyder sounds more like your cuppa, rather than the Ryker. The F3 could do it, but the F3 is built around a Harley type of ride positioning, so if you like that type of body position, then that's it. If you prefer a more traditional motorcycle ride position, ie: ride on top...

Anyone used Redline Synthetic Oil? Any length of change improvements?

I use only Red Line in my BMW motorcycle transmission and rear end (final drive), and when I had my various Harley's I only used Red Line in all three holes (engine, transmission and clutch). I've never done testing on it, so I can't say from a scientific standpoint how it performed. However...

Does a leaky Elka rear shock have to be shipped to them?

Any local suspension shop should be able to get the parts. There is nothing unique to their design. Several years ago my Elka front shocks started leaking. I first contacted Elka in Canada and at that time they only had a single shop in the US that was an authorized repair center. I called...

    Anyone used this AJC Battery?

I've never heard of the brand, but I'd think it should be okay. The price is good. :dontknow:

Passenger Grab handles (& floorboards) rubber base different rubber? Fading badly!

As far as I know, BRP was also supposed to be investigating these parts for poor fitment and nothing ever came of that either.

This is how our Spyder Axle Adjusters work!

My suspicion is BRP did it this way to make rear tire changes and belt alignments difficult to do for a home mechanic, in order to draw you back into the dealership network to help maximize profits.

BRP Go instead of BRP Connect?

I like it better. However, I don't use any music through the app. I just use it for mapping only, so in that regard it works better. I control my music through my Sena headset. Even though I said I like it better, it is still a deeply flawed app.

Stripped Threaded Push Pins in Side Storage compartments????

These automotive push pins are identical to ones used on certain Dodge and Chrysler cars from the early 1990's.

2020 RTL brake issue - it's eating rotors! HELP?

From your description it could be a problem with the anti-lock module. Anti-lock brakes work by controlling the flow of brake fluid to the calipers creating essentially an on-off flow. When the anti-lock module actives under hard braking it creates a shuddering sensation like you're...

Who makes the Spyder 6 speed transmission?

Don't forget they make (or at least used to and maybe still do, I haven't looked lately) excellent aircraft engines too.

I ran T6 in my 08 GS when I had it. Never a problem or issue.

    2020 RT Saddlebag Sticking

To my mind it should clearly be a warranty issue, but the dealer is the gatekeeper to all things warranty so I'd talk to them about it before they wrote it up to see what they have to say. If they're being difficult move onto the next dealer since nothing would be in writing at that point...

2020 Spyder RT Limited gauge cluster is loose - ideas to re-fix?

You shouldn't be able to hit a pothole hard enough to do that, so something might not have been properly attached at the factory. You're still under warranty so you might want the dealer to take a look at it.

    S2S floorboard rubber mat loose?

Yep, totally normal. BRP copied the floorboard design from HD in that the rubber portion sort of floats to absorb vibration to eliminate fatigue on longer rides.
