• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Pressed my luck

I have a 2013 RT, and i thought i could get one more year out of the original battery. No such luck. beautiful Saturday morning, and the battery is most sincerely dead. At least it happened in my garage. I ordered another on Amazon and should be here in a few days.

    Spyder Sisters Sunshade

I have wanted to get one of these sunshades for a while. The seat gets baking hot when parked in the sunshine, and when we go up in the national parks it should keep the gawkers off. It is a nice contrasting color for the deep brown paint, easy to put on and secure. Cami took my order and in a...

New front tires with EZ Beads

My original front tires were cupped at 16,000 miles, so I ordered a set of Federal EVOs online, same size as originals. I got the tires mounted at Cycle Gear and they added 2 ounces of EZ Beads to each tire, and after a couple hundred miles at 18 pounds pressure, they are much smoother riding...

    Storage question

I take my Spyder out every week, but my trailer doesn't leave the garage for months. Should it be stored with blocks under the frame and tires off the ground? For that matter, what is best for Spyders that are in extended storage for several months, should they be put up on blocks? I can't...

    Speed Bump vs Thermowrap

I hit a speed bump a little too hard and tore some of the thermowrap on my cat bypass, see picture. A friend suggested welding a 6" long by 1" wide standoff on the pipes so they would not tear up the thermowrap. Anybody try this? The thermowrap would go underneath the standoff and would be...

Good time at SITR, lots to see, new friends, great venue

We got back late Saturday night from SITR. it was nice to wear a jacket during the summer, and back home it was 100+. We took a few pictures, one of the ride through Prairie Creek State Park, and another of one of the Victorian mansions at Eureka. The main street of Eureka has a lot of Victorian...

    Stray Cats and Fatherhood

Quite a few years ago my dog was barking at the fence between me and my neighbors house. My wife and daughter went over to Richard our neighbor, and with his adult son they went looking in the outdoor shed to see why the dog was barking. The neighbor's son went in and came out with a kitten not...

    Threw out the cat

I jacked up the Spyder, put the jack stands in place, and removed and replaced the catalytic convertor with the bypass from Pitbull. I did find that the clamp on the right header and the catalytic convertor was very loose, but the slipjoint did not show any deterioration. Probably with only...

Does anyone have a picture or information on how thick the coolant tank wall is? I wonder because i would like to know its capacity and i would appreciate it if anyone knows. I can't tell how much it holds between the lower mark and the hot level. I have a 2013 RTby the way. Thanks a lot.

    Cure for scruffy bottom

We rode our 2013RT a few weeks ago on a country road and I got off the side a little. I am including the picture of the original skid plate, I am pretty sure it will not take much more of that abuse. I bought and installed one of Spyderpops skid plates. Being as thick and much more extensive...
