• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looks like it's time to give up the ride - thoughts fm others who've faced this?

A number of things (not all bad) over the last few months, have made my wife and I both approach the subject of "for us...... is it time to put the Spyder up for sale?" Over the past 9 years, and 61,000 road miles, we have enjoyed traveling and seeing areas of the west coast we probably...

Now I'm in trouble - 2014 RTL rear brake re-assembly - any helpful ideas?

My bad :banghead::banghead: :banghead: :banghead: - only problem is - how to get out of it? And the Spyder is out of commission until I do! :banghead: :yikes: Apparently, I was not involved enough over the last few months to notice my rear brake pads were way up on their lifespan. Fronts are...

Garmin on 2014RTL did not recognize a street address correctly in Salem, Oregon

I programmed in the hotel address from the confirmation I had.....1775 Freeway Ct. Salem, OR. and only 1 choice came up. (you cannot add a zip code as far as I know in Garmin.) In Salem there are apparently two Freeway Ct. streets in 2 different zip codes, but the GPS only showed 1 for the...

Just a question about my 1 gal reserve fuel location and any "Venting" concerns.

Just a question about my 1 gal reserve fuel location and any "Venting" concerns. last year I mounted a Military Ammo Can (empty of course :roflblack:) to the tongue of my utility trailer (harbor Freight trailer). It nicely holds a 1 gal. gas can (new design plastic with internal flame arrester...

No lie.... My wife and I have noticed recently that when we are doing say 50 MPH, it "feels" faster than it did, even last year. No explanation..........just wondering if anyone else has noticed as they ride more (and get older), this has happened to them.:dontknow: Turning 80 Y.O...

    great oil drain pan

Others probably found this or know this already, :dontknow: but while getting my oil for my first DIY oil change effort, I saw this oil drain pan at my local O'reilly's auto parts store. It is called the "Less Mess drain pan" and is 21" X 11" x 4" deep. It covered both drain areas under our 2014...

Surprisingly clear results from 4120 dashcam!

Just tested in the car (truck) the "4k Ultra HD Dash Cam" I bought at CostCo for $119 ! This is my first dashcam, and I have wanted one on the Spyder for a long time, but didn't like the prices I was seeing. :yikes: Took a ride to a few stores yesterday and just turned it on and let it run for...

Difficulty with fixed push pins on bottom of top side panel of 2014 RTL - any ideas?

I have been told that my problem of not being able to get one of these 2 pins (chrome false push pins) on the bottom of this panel to go into the grommet is not new. The one I can't get to go in is not straight like other pins on the spyder panels, but the shaft part on this one is bent to about...

    Spyder RTL gas mileage history

Just wondering if anyone else has tracked their mileage as I have and what the results were. Ours is a 2014 RTL with 56,000 plus miles on it now. I have always documented mileage numbers, but this time I have calculated costs per mile based on "fluxuating" gas prices also. My data numbers after...

My Quatrac 5 mileage to date

Miles on Vredestein tire on 2014 RTL Just reporting my experience. FYI - The Kenda rear tire that came new on the Spyder, only lasted 12,000 miles. The replacement Kenda I then put on: only lasted 14,000 miles. After a lot of info gathering (thanks to BK911), I then replaced the rear with a...

Dealer changed service staff - now refuses to install ANY auto tire on a Spyder.

FYI - A new "service manager" and the new "service writer" told me today they wouldn't mount any auto tire on ANY Spyder. Says he did a few and had troubles with the job and won't do it again. No explanation of what "trouble" means. This is after I told him I wanted to get my annual service...

    Cognac touchup paint

Just curious. :dontknow: My wife and I believe that a few of the newer cars we see, have paint that matches or comes "extremely close" to our 2014 Cognac Spyder color.:dontknow: If so, I could probably get a "Duplicolor" touch up bottle/pen with color and clear paints for give or take $14...

I know this is NOT a big deal for many of you, but for us, it is a fantastic accomplishment, given the limited free time we have had over the last 7 years to accomplish it.:yes: :ohyea::ohyea: On Sept. 12, 2021, at 1:14PM, the Spyder Odometer turned over to 50,000 miles :clap...

Can you easily see light thru the radiator fins - 2014RTL ?

I just tried looking thru the radiator fins from the front (as I have done before) but this time I could not see light thru most of the "visible" fin area. :banghead: Note: I do not have any indication that there is any heat problem, but I am curious if any others have noted this, and are OK...
