• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Overheating problem on 2014 RTS

End of last year and start of this season I have been having overheat problems when idling. Fan kicks on but it appears to not be cooling it off enough as the Overheat light will come on. Zero signs of any leakage anywhere. I am scheduling my springtime oil change and will probably get them to...

About time Spring makes a slow arrival

Going to break the bike out of storage finally today. Early for most in Upstate but I don't mind cold as long as white stuff isn't present. Ordered new tires finally for the front; VREDESTEIN QUATRAC 5 175/55R15. Previous stocks have made it to 30k+ since 07/15 but started having cupping/wobbles...

    Headlight problem

I just briefly searched through the forums here for headlight info...both of my headlights are out. Foglights are the only things working. Hitting High to Low makes the shutter sounds. How likely/unlikely is it that I would lose both sides at the same time? Or is this some other culprit? If it...

    Bluetooth Receiver

Has anyone used or tried the following Bluetooth Receiver? http://nyrius.com/product/Songo_Link_Wireless_Bluetooth_Music_Receiver_30_pin_Apple_Speaker_Dock_BR30.eng-19.html Hoping to be able to use it to play music through the Spyder Soundsystem while routing phone calls to my 20s. I may just...

    Intersection pet peeve

This doesn't just relate to the tri wheeler but an issue with the pre-tri rides. When I am at an intersection(traffic light) that if I were in a car would give me a lane and a half, I hate to have cars pull up alongside of me just because they can. More details? I am going straight through an...

    Exciting Monday

Just to add to my excitement of a 35 degree trip in to work today...I nearly wrecked my Spyder. Following a school bus through center of Syracuse...school bus was tailgating a semi truck. Semi truck blew a tire which caused the usual huge tire strip to peel away. I saw brake lights on the bus...

    Funny/Scary 2 Up "Issue"

Only problem my wife and I had on our ride a few weeks ago to RI was that the backseat was in fact too comfy for her. Yep...she said she nodded off once. After an emergency rest area stop to "fuel her up" on an energy drink "we" were fine for the rest of the trip. This started the very funny...

    Sygic vs Waze vs ?

I have a very weird config issue with my iPhone and 20s. If I use Waze on the iPhone 6 Plus I can get the sound to come through my Spyder speakers. If I have the Audio on iPod then it will cut my music off on phone calls and they get routed to my 20s. If I have the Audio on FM then I get FM and...

    Hot ride

Had a great weekend but sorry that I missed out on Spyderquest. Did Sea Doo(BRP) riding on Thursday and then hit the road on the RTS Friday morning. Leisurely 8.5 hour trip to Rhode Island. Decided to stay an extra day to have more fun. Rode back in really nasty heat on Sunday. Hid inside with...

    1 Month Newby Check In

Well, I have now had my 2014 RTS SM6 for one full month. I have racked up 3500 miles, I consider this a decent amount since I am not retired and my wife wants to see me off the bike once in a while. I got the first maintenance completed last friday and probably paid too much at $250 but I picked...

    Awesome new ride!

Well, 910 miles later I am home and very much enjoying this awesome ride. Stopped once after about 350 miles in Ft Wayne. Didn't take me long at all to get used to the ride though steering has to be the biggest learning challenge from a 2 wheel Veteran. Other than a nasty sunburn I had a great...

2014 RTS, BT, and "on the cheap"

I have searched and read lots on this site and the other about the Sena BT options as well as Dongle vs Headsets and I am needless to say very confused as to what I should initially go with for my spyder. I'm picking it up in about another week and driving it about 13 hours home from a...

Will a NY EZ Pass for an auto work for my Spyder?

I know that in NY you have to get a motorcycle only transponder but you can only get one when you show proof of registration. I also know they frown upon moving an automobile transponder to a bike. Anyone know if they will still work on a bike or are they doing a verification between...

Newby Spydy Ryder from Lyons, NY.

I will be picking up my 2014 RT-S in White on July 31st. Have a fun 13 hour trip ahead of me to get her home. After that trip I will be looking for others to cruise with. I am located close to Rochester and Canandaigua but work in Syracuse at the VA so I will be commuting 4 days a week. Lots...
