• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is Running Diesel Oil in Your Spyder such a good idea?

An oil thread? It's not even winter. :ROFLMAO:

Ever driven your Spyder onto a ferry?

I've taken a Canadian lake ferry with no issues at all. It was fun, actually.

Is this a Major Electrical Short??? Any suggestions?

Did you do the battery testing Andy described? If you posted it, I missed it. But, that's where I would suggest you start before anything drastic.

2021 RT Limited riding 2-up, scales show 800 lbs on front wheels, 600 lbs on back, but Air compressor never turns on for ACS - anyone else?

Another thing. The compressor only works when a different load is sensed. So if you have approximately the same load each time, it should not activate. If you're going from solo to rider and passenger, then the compressor should activate.

2016 RTS Right front tire wobble/shakes - any thoughts?

Just spitballing. Look at your shocks carefully to see if there is any moisture. Possibly a blown shock. While there, check all of your ball joints and front suspension components to see if they're tight. Could be a bad ball joint or loose tie rod.

Overheating 2011 Can Am Spyder RS - any ideas on fixes?

I would possibly suggest the thermostat. However, having said that I seem to recall that years ago people had trouble bleeding air in the coolant system on the original V twin engines and some suggested jacking it up to an extreme angle to get air past a singular obstruction. There should be...

Left hand switch cluster on 2023 RT LTD needs to rotate towards me - do any Torx screws pass thru the bar?

Since no one has answered yet. It's been years, but as I recall the switch clusters have a locating pin that keeps movement to a minimum. But, that's memory, and I've worked on tons of bikes over the years and could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure. HTH

Is it easy to Replace the Battery on a 2014 RT? Any Recommendations? Any need for electronics protection or reset?

To answer your other questions. It is kind of a pain to replace the battery, but totally doable. The hardest part is the hold down strap. It take some effort and patience, but again, it's doable. There is nothing to reset. My personal recommendation is to make sure the key is out of range...

Still here too. I don't post much, but visit the site almost daily.

Are Straight wound springs going to be better than Progressive rate springs?

Progressive vs standard springs is super controversial in the suspension world, so I'm not sure you can get a definite answer to that question. However, from the photo you posted it appears that half your spring is fully collapsed, which is not right. The static weight of your machine should...

Brake failure message and no fluid from ABS and the rear caliper, any ideas?

Is the brake reservoir completely full? If it's ever so slightly down, it will send a trouble light signal. However, I doubt that's your problem since you've said there is no fluid coming out of the rear caliper. Also, it's not possible to bleed the ABS module without a BUDS hooked up...

Anyone have problems with Tricled Peel & Stick Wide-Vu Mirrors?

I had them on my 2014 and then added them onto my then new 2020, and knock wood, never had an issue with it.

Does the Evap canister pre-filter need to be changed? If so, is it DIY, or take it to a Dealer?

I bought and replaced mine. The job wasn't that bad at all, just the body work removal is a PITA. However, once I got it out and replaced, I discovered the part can be taken apart and cleaned. No need to replace.

What can I do to get a straight shot at the Rear Tire valve Stem?

I would be willing to take an educated guess that the reason the valve stem is on the sprocket side is because some corporate lawyer was worried they would get sued because someone burned themselves on the muffler when doing an air check.

Planning a Pacific Coast Highway trip - looking for suggestions

I'm right off of Hwy 1, so I can give you some more specific info, if you wish. I will say that Hwy 1 is closed between Big Sur and Morro Bay. You can look up "Paul's Slide". It's a massive landslide that made the news several years ago and could be seen from space and hasn't really been...

Any reason I can't leave the Plastic Cover underneath off to check for oil leaks?

On my 08 GS, I removed the under panels due to heat buildup and never had an issue. I would suspect that if you're running through a lot of wet conditions, you might some issues, but otherwise I can see no harm.
