• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    FUEL GUAGE ACCURACY

I wonder what kind of fuel economy price you pay when you install the F4 tall and wide windshield.

    Fuel type---

Why would anyone in their right mind buy a new vehicle from a company that they believe does not understand how to lubricate their own vehicles? The only way to determine the minimum requirements for a given engine for certain is to run multiple engines under heavy load on test stands and/or or...

Did you check your owner's manual?

Praise the Lord and Thank BRP

I shudder to think what would have happened if you were riding a 2 wheeler when that happened. Safety is one big reason why I switched from 2 to 3 wheels. I hope it doesn't cost you a lot to get the Spyder back in top shape.

We Have ALL Got To Try This Car!

Uhhhhhh, steam plants, nuclear plants, solar panels, wind turbines, hydroelectric generators - same places we get it from today. If your point is that we will have to increase the electrical capacity on a national scale, I certainly agree.

We Have ALL Got To Try This Car!

Someday, electric cars will be a practical alternative to gasoline powered cars rather than an expensive novelty.

    1330, The Great Oil Debate!

Ron, you really did misinterpret my original message. However, I would like to address once again the subject of motor oil testing. These companies are very good at measuring viscosity, lubricity, contamination and chemical breakdown of motor oils. They are not, however, authorities on what...

    1330, The Great Oil Debate!

Your best bet is to buy and use the recommended oils specified in the owner's manual. The manual is very specific on what is and isn't appropriate. They do recommend full synthetic oils. I just don't understand why people don't trust what the vehicle manufacturer says.

    Just don't get it

I keep a constant conversation going with my wife when we are riding together using a bluetooth headset. I will never ride 2-up without headsets because using them makes the time so much more enjoyable. Does anyone really ride in a car with their husband/wife and not have frequent conversations...

I don't think the law suits would have played out exactly the same way where I live.

    Road Trip!

Well, we are hoping to do the same ride in the opposite direction. My wife's niece and her family live there and we are hoping to visit them on the Spyder. I think I will wait for a little warmer weather though.

    is this our future

Great little comedy. In answer to the question, if I found myself in the circumstances of the guy whose house is being broken into, the future of the burglar would be much more in doubt than mine or my family's. Remember - When seconds count, the police are only minutes away (unless you live in...

    Rotella T-6 Full Synthetic

BRP does not recommend against full synthetic motor oil! Page 124 of my owner's manual recommends either partial or all synthetic motor oil. I can't imagine where this rumor originated or who keeps propagating it. Like every other motorcycle manufacturer that uses wet clutches, they recommend...

    1330 NO ETHANOL

My comment regarding a reduction in power with E10 compared to pure gasoline assumed that the octane rating was the same in ether case.

    1330 NO ETHANOL

The last figures i saw were that you pay about a 3.3% penalty in fuel economy using E10 instead of pure gasoline. I didn't see performance figures but I would guess they would be about the same.

    Gas additives/octane boost

Yes, the 1330 has a knock sensor. The engine controller will retard the timing if 87 octane is used. My owner's manual recommends, but does not require, 91 octane. My opinion is that you are compromising power at lower octane, but not necessarily reliability. The way gas prices have dropped in...

    Horsepower

I used to ride my Concours with a guy who rode a Hyabusa. He could leave me behind like my engine was dead. A Concours will run off and leave a Spyder like the engine was dead. People just don't realize what that kind of power to weight ratio can do. Edit: I just did a little research out of...
