• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Returning member after years on a Goldwing Trike - anyone else done this? Thoughts?

I went from a Gold Wing trike to a 2021 RTL simply because there was no one left closer than 300 miles to service the trike kit part. I used to drive 150 miles for this, but the old guy retired. I much prefer the Gold Wing, simply because it is a motorcycle and I had been on the back of a...

Battery Tenders - should you use them or not?

Battery Tender Junior we have used for years - never any problems. I have a new one but am still using a very old one on the Spyder that I bought in 2008. The new one is attached to another Spyder.

What just happened? Two weeks old: Engine shut down, VSS Error.

From all of my 2-wheelers thru my current Spyder RTL that kill switch has caused me more frustration than anyone should have to have in 3 life-times. I have threatened to tape it down in the "run" position. Inevitably, out in the middle of nowhere, that switch would accidentally get bumped...

Any Spyder Shipping Recommendations - Maine to Texas?

I have no idea of the cost of this company but have seen this truck in town. I watched them unload a trike. Not a wobble or bobble went on with that process. https://haulbikes.com/

2025 Planning 11th Memorial Trip to Central Texas (in memory of my wife)

Butler Maps offers a really good map of all the paved motorcycle roads in the Texas hill country. These maps are heavy duty and don't tear up while trying to handle them. Get one and if your time permits take any of the little side roads the map shows. The main travel roads are fun, including...

    Test Drove A Goldwing Trike

I came to Spyder from 2 Gold Wing trikes. One trike did not have the Easy Steer on it, the other did.... QUITE the difference!!! Put the Easy Steer on that one ASAP. Both were a complete pleasure to drive. Only switched to a Spyder because my independent mechanic retired and closed up shop...

Never Say a Spyder Can't Flip

EXACTLY what I thought! That police car never stopped. Guess he didn't think it odd that a huge flatbed truck/trailer was dead stopped in the road? Or that a bunch of vehicles were stopped alongside the road? Very strange...

Curious for comments on Twisted Sisters ride in Texas?

Yes - the Blue Bonnets and Indian Paint Brush were absolutely abundant and gorgeous this past April and they lasted much longer than usual - we were really surprised. It is because we had good rain in the fall of 2023. Ample fall rain always gives a better chance for the following spring...

Curious for comments on Twisted Sisters ride in Texas?

I live in Kerrville, TX - one of the main jump-off areas for the Sisters. As was said, the area has its own beauty but beware it is NOT the Rockies, Appalachian, etc type of scenery. It is Texas beauty, nothing more, nothing less, and to each his own. We never get tired of riding the area...

Spyderlovers - Facebook - Or Both?

I don’t participate in any social websites except this one and Triketalk as they are focussed and strictly moderated. I consider websites like Facebook to be the root of lots of problems the world has now.

Suggest any battery warming gloves thin enough to wear under thick gloves?

I bought these Gerbing battery operated gloves. I was afraid the battery on each hand might make the glove feel heavy and cumbersome.. nope.. not at all. They are very flexible. I have heated grips also but don't need to turn them on with these gloves. The wires in these gloves wrap ALL the...

Looking at dog carriers. Anyone have any advice?

Just an incident to pass on.... I was at a gathering of trikers one year when a driver pulls up with his dog in a small trailer behind the bike. When he began to unload the dog from the trailer he could see the dog had been throwing up, was panting heavily, and could barely stand up. He got...

Any ideas on removing Compression Socks without working so hard?

I have bought thigh-high compression stockings from this company - both the Jobst brand and the Sigvaris brand. I can't wear the knee-highs as the tops tend to cut into my legs just below the knee. This link shows some accessories available for getting the stockings on - not sure about off...

    Went To Buc-ee's in Atlanta!

I never have been to a Buc-ee's. Heard a lot about them - all good. Have driven by the Buc-ee's around New Braunfels, TX on I-35 several times but never had time to stop. They are planning on building one on my side of the Texas Hill Country down by Boerne off of I-10 & 87. It was announced...

How about heated gear - what's your favorite? Any other suggestions?

I never used to wear heated gear. It was always too expensive it seemed when I could just bundle up and peel off later. However, as time rolls on it seems I don’t tolerate the cold well at all. I am an official coldy-cat now. Everybody I am now riding with has heated gear. For me it was...

Saw your Jeep pic album... beautiful! What a new adventure package!! Dunno... might be like my husband and I when we gave up tent camping and went to a motor home... we never looked back... the time was right.. Only you two can figure out what's best for you two. Wishing you more miles of...
