• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Manual Downshift Issue

I had the exact same problem on my 2018 RTL. Problem started happening well before 3000 mile mark. Couldn't downshift manually or put it in reverse without a lot of effort. Finally couldn't manually downshift at all...and could barely get it into reverse. It was in the shop for *two weeks*...

Helmet hangers on 2018 RT and others SUCK!!!!!!!!!

FWIW I usually just put my helmet in the frunk (only place where it fits due to my giant noggin). My wife's helmet fits in one of the side compartments. Never have used the helmet hooks under the seat. Richard

    2018 RTL music feature

Hmmm...I don't think I've seen that when using BRP Connect on my Spyder. Are you running firmware version 12.2? Isn't that the latest? Pretty sure that's what I have as well. Thanks! Richard

modular Shoei Neotec II with Sena SRL

Well, since the SRL supports connecting to 9 different people, there's a problem: to whom are you speaking when you start talking? Comm #4? Comm #7? I think that's why there are two ways you can initiate a comm: 1) Button press(es), or 2) Say "Hello Sena" followed by "Intercom 1" (or...

    Going Blind....not really

+1 on the multifocal contact lenses. They enable me to see close-up and far away. I love 'em! Richard

modular Shoei Neotec II with Sena SRL

Hi, I have a Shoei Neotec II helmet with the integrated Sena SRL. I love the helmet and enjoy the SRL integration. Btw, it took forever to find the SRL since it's sold out everywhere. Finally bought it on eBay for 299 -- no shipping or tax. The pros: Since the system is integrated so well...

Any other Spyder riders in the Atlanta area want to get together?

Hi Everybody, I live in the Alpharetta / Johns Creek area of Atlanta and am looking for other Spyder owners with whom to ride. I already ride with some motorcycle friends, and I really enjoy that. They're great folks. But I'm hoping to meet some other Spyder owners. So far I've met only a...

    Low cost GPS

I usually use Genius Maps (iPhone only) since it has offline maps, traffic-based rerouting, and BRP Connect integration. But for sharing or importing routes via GPX files, I use inRoute (also iPhone only). It excels at route planning and features turn-by-turn navigation, importing/exporting...

Air Horn on Spyder RT Ltd.

Is this everything I "need"? Hi Everybody, If I bring this single kit (link below) to my local dealer, does it have everything needed to install a louder horn? I'm just trying to avoid buying insufficient parts for the task...

    Back rest

The BRP backrest that I use has a switch underneath the seat. So you lift the seat (as if you were putting gas into the vehicle), pull the switch/lever, and then backrest comes out. Thus, you could leave it in all the time until you wanted to ride 2 up, and then just remove it easily and put...

    Riderscan Blind Spot Mirror

I just bought the Tricled Wide-Vu mirrors. Based on reviews here they're supposed to be fantastic. Should be getting them tomorrow. Richard

    “Survey Says ...”

For me: (1) Commuter - to and from work. (even today, with rain in forecast) (2) Day rydes - start at home / end at home ... maybe two tanker. Planning to do some of these soon: (3) Multi-day / overnight / over the weekend rydes. And maybe one day: (4) Long haul touring - multi-day...

    Fuel range

Hrm.....maybe you're looking at one of the trip meters (A or B) and you've reset it? My pic is showing the main odometer reading -- the one you can't reset. I would make sure the tab that you're on shows "Total" rather than 'A' or 'B.' Does that help? If you're already on the Total tab, then...

    Fuel range

If I'm to believe the computer on my Spyder (see image below), I'm averaging at least 50 mpg! That said, I really wish BRP had included a gauge indicating miles remaining on the current tank. Even the Harley trike has that, I think. Richard https://www.dropbox.com/s/wahlrpwb1bxr4d5/main.jpg

    Cross Country Trip

Another vote for Eargasm earplugs, which you can get via Amazon. I used mine today for the first time and found they made a big difference. Much more comfortable ride up GA 400 to Dahlonega and through the hills. Richard

    Question/observation on gas mileage RTL 1330 SE6

On my 2018 RT Limited I've noticed a wild variance in mileage based on whether I'm riding stop/go in the city or doing highway/freeway miles. In the city with lots of traffic lights and stop signs my MPG meter shows lows 20's (yeah, bad). But when I switch to 50-55 mph consistently for dozens...

Best shop in Atlanta for Spyder mods? (newbie question)

Hi Everybody, Can anyone recommend a shop in Atlanta for some minor Spyder mods? Yes, I should be able to do stuff myself, but I have very few tools and limited "shop" knowledge. So I'd rather pay a little extra and have a pro (or friend I trust) do the work. Thanks in advance for any...

    2018 Dash Software Update

Since some folks mentioned Genius Maps here, I thought I'd ask this question: has anyone been able to adjust the navigation voice volume when using the bike's speakers? The navigation works for me, so that's great, but it blasts the directions so loudly that people in nearby cars can probably...
