• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Random thought for the day

I just looked up about possums in your neck of the woods, South Australia. It says you have to have a permit to trap them and that you must re-home them within 50 meters of where you trapped them. Though I suppose the neighbors garage is probably within 50 meters. I won't tell if you won't about...

    Random thought for the day

I’m sure a quick perusal of the dark web, or even Temu will come up with one of those naughty garage door opener signal learning thingies. Just for investigative and research purposes only though. Your life seems to be like a chapter out of “The Day of the Triffids”. My visitors are the...

Is there any Owner affordable BUDS?

I would suspect that using a OBDII reader unit, rather than trying to adapt to a phone/tablet/computer via Bluetooth would remove a set of variables from the equation. I tried quite a few OBDII adapters via Bluetooth on my Range Rover, from an iPhone and an iPad with numerous reader apps. None...

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

I'd just drink it a half a can at a time. Shake well before opening.

Your Weather News @ August 2026

Went out today. The Spyder said it was up to 102°F on the black tarmac surfaced roads. Just too much at my age. Let's hope it starts to cool off now that we are approaching September. When I stopped at the lights, I started to cook. The weather service said it was mid 90's °F, but locally, it...

Is my Air bag leveling? Any way to make it more noticeable when adjusting the ride height?

That's a good idea. I've always thought about making a product that does that. Monitors the compressor and displays an LED on a pad or bar mount option. In fact I thought with the new 10.25 display Can Am could have easily made a compressor operating indicator on the display. I'm sure given...

Today I tried navigation via BRP Go (2024+)...

Cough, $2,017.95? Cough. Yep, OK. And I thought BRP’s add ons had a suspiciously high margins.

FS: 2022 Spyder RT Limited - Knoxville, TN

I traded my 2021 RT LTD for a 2026 Sea to Sky. Considering yours is a year younger than mine, with lots more extras on yours, I think your asking price is very reasonable if it is in good condition. I think you priced it to sell as those are all sensible, and quite expensive, accessories, no...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

It was the high nineties again today. Just had a ten minute thunderstorm at 10:00 pm. I tried the maple syrup on my ice cream when we went to Vermont. Went to a maple syrup farm and I tried it there. It was good, but I have to watch my sugar level. Had more rhubarb pie and ice cream this...

Check out the new 2027 Can-Am Ryker!

I watched a YouTube video where there is a turbo kit specifically for the existing 900 cc Ryker. I would suspect you could fit it in under a day with a lift to make it easier. It looked like quite a decent kit too. After fitment, the Ryker was certainly quicker. From what I remember, it...

Today I tried navigation via BRP Go (2024+)...

Google has been very reticent to make Android apps available on motorcycle display systems. I believe they did for some HD models and the Honda Goldwing but they seem to be far from proving in this functionality across the range unlike for most car models. Perhaps it’s too many low volume...

How many Spyder Riders have had a Hip replacement? How does it work for you?

My wife has a dodgy hip. The Spyder is much easier for her than the sports touring bikes we had before. She can get on before I do, or off after I get off if she wants to. Much easier on me if she happens to get on after me, I just stand up, lean forwards, and that gives her room. Two wheels...

Rear wheel clunk, wheel bearings are good - could it be a loose spacer tube? Your thoughts/any ideas on how to make the noise stop?

It's done 88K miles. I'd look at sideways play on the bearings, which I'd replace anyway as they've likely reached their lifetime limit. I'd also check the play of the belt on the pulleys. If the teeth on the belt have worn enough then a new belt and pulleys may be in order. I'd also check the...

    Spyder Sightings

I think the new HD trikes are supposed to be better, with an independent rear suspension they just introduced. However, having ridden the older one, I thought they were really scary to ride , i.e., the motorcycle equivalent of a Reliant Robin or a Bond Bug. If you’ve never seen either one of...

Using an iPhone with BRP-Go Navigation - Review

I thought the Mac macOS Apple App Store app was just a wrapper to the web app? I’ll look again. Thanks

What did you do to your Spyder today?

My wife made made me rhubarb pie with large helpings of vanilla ice cream. Ice cream is the best, especially vanilla. Was going to go for a ride but it was 100°F again.

Looking for Navigation options besides ACP - What do you recommend?

I’m an Apple user so that’s fine by me too, but in emerging markets and even the US, Apple is not necessarily the dominant phone manufacturer. It works the way it works indeed, but the feedback I send to BRP is that this is an opportunity left untapped, especially when compared to premium...

Looking for Navigation options besides ACP - What do you recommend?

I understand your point. However, the BRP Go use case for road touring with a Spyder is different to the other BRP vehicles and watercraft. Perhaps the core of the system is portable across each of the product range, but the capabilities required for a jet ski are rather different than those...

Check out the new 2027 Can-Am Ryker!

Dropping the 600 twin for a detuned 900 triple makes sense from a manufacturing perspective. The increase in the number of parts required is small compared to the manufacturing and support cost savings. Some countries have Spyder’s classified as motorcycles and they have two tiered licensing...
