• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Let’s start a fad - passing Spider Rings (from Amazon) to other Spyders

No thanks, things like that scream trendy to me. If I give my true feelings I'll get banned.

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

As far as that type person is concerned ignorance is bliss. Obviously, they knew nothing about motorcycles and were just repeating what has been passed down for ages.

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

Exactly! My nickname at work was Scooter. Most Scott's that ride end up with that nickname for obvious reasons. Some non riders thought that was derogatory. Not at all.

Buying a new helmet - who replaces them every 5 years per manufacturers spec??

Yes I buy a new helmet every 5 years or so. I don't spend more then $250 on mine and usually get them on sale. When I was working as a machinist and riding to work every day I would stink of cutting oil by days end. There was no way I was putting my stinking head in a new helmet, so I used the 4...

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

That's exactly how I feel. You put it into words better though.

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

The last time I rode a motorcycle I ended up in somebody's front yard not knowing what just happened. 7 ribs broken in a bunch of places, a broken collarbone, a torn ligament in my thumb, and a concussion, but very little road rash. Wearing full protection saved me from much worse injuries. I'm...

Any takers to Car wash your Spyder?

My wife and I were discussing automatic car washes and I had a thought. Someone could drive the Spyder through a car wash in rain gear and helmet just to see what the automatic system would do. They measure the car before starting, it might give the whole damn thing fits. Any takers?

Pre 2020 RT owners - can you stand up while riding?

I've done it on the street at up to 80 mph for a mile at a time on a Moto Guzzi Breva 1100. No issues at all. Not in traffic of course.

Pre 2020 RT owners - can you stand up while riding?

I was thinking the same thing. Standing is easy on a bike if the foot positioning is available. No cruisers for sure.

Pre 2020 RT owners - can you stand up while riding?

I don't have a Spyder yet but will this summer. I HAVE TO OR I'M GONNA GO NUTS! That's what I'm telling my wife anyhow. My question is on the 2014 to 2019 RT, can you stand up while riding to stretch out the kinks? They have shorter footboards than the new ones so I'm not sure. I've always been...

    Welcome, Lctriple

Thanks for adding me to the forum. I don't currently have a Spyder but I'm looking to get one. Rode motorcycles for 50 odd years but I'm having balance issues so it's either stop riding or get a Spyder. I had a 79 Can Am MX 5 that I raced hare scrambles with back in the 80's. Still have the old...
