• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Parked Spyder SE5 stuck in Reverse

I'm not aware of the way to shift the SE5 manually with a wrench. I did find out on the RT Shop Talk that it is as simple as putting your foot on the brake and engage the starter. This was the first time this has happened to me, but I will know better in the future.

Parked Spyder SE5 stuck in Reverse

Never mind. :opps: I looked over under RT Shop Talk and sure enough they had the solution and I am so glad it was so simple. I thought I had tried the correct solution, but obviously hadn't. :banghead:

How many miles do you have on your RT?

Bought new end of April 2011 and have approximately 12,250 miles. Lost 4+ months of riding in 2012 due to an accident on the Spyder and now am sporting a 12" steel plate with a dozen screws in the leg and some lag bolts in the ankle. Back to riding again and thank the good Lord for that.

    June 16th Spyder Ride

Gary, Thanks. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we can get together and see what it will take to fix the arm rest and anything else you might find in need to replacement parts. An old injury from the Navy has came to haunt me and now the doctors are wearing me out. We'll get together soon...

    Helmets?????????

We have both types of helmets and always wear one. Back in June we had a freak accident. I vividly recall my helmet bouncing off of the pavement twice. I did end up with a very badly shattered right leg. Had I not had a helmet on the medical folks said it likely would have been a heck of a...

    New Tire

I have an appointment with my dealer to replace my rear tire on Thursday. I'll remember to ask them to check the bearings, etc. I think they will only use OEM tires.

    Newby Alert

I went through initiation on Guam a few years earlier. I have to say that pinning on the CPO Anchors was the single best event in my 24 year career that ended 17 years and 15 days ago. Due to the Tail-hook event I was in the year group that got screwed awaiting commissioning. There were times...

Pics from a great MOGang weekend in the Ozarks

Great pictures I had a guy ask me yesterday if I was in the group. He said someone had their front end done up like mine. Wish I'd been there.

On the road again This past Friday I told my physical therapist that I was ready to venture out on my own. I am finally cleared to drive. Been taking little steps on the Spyder, but I feel confident that I can ride again just fine. Doctor said to expect another year of swelling in the...

    June 16th Spyder Ride

On Monday the staples will be removed. Right now it looks like ten weeks before I can put any weight on the foot. I'm in an inflatable rigid boot now. I'm exercising my leg by lifting it up and down. The foot is stiff with a very tiny up and down movement in the ankle and zero left/right...

RoHo, Thanks a million for the offer, but I'm having ramps built within the week. A carpenter friend is going to put in hand rails in the bathrooms, ramps, and replace the front storm door. When we had our home built in 2008 we contracted for an ADA home. The contractor did not do the ramps...

Elka Stages, which one is right? How much one can afford?

Len fixed us up with Elka's for the front of our 2011 RT SE5 and it was like getting a new Spyder again. We did not go with rear shock. I can't wait to ryde ours again.

    June 16th Spyder Ride

Chief, We had to cancel our reservations this year. We're going to Spyderfest next year for sure. MRS Commander wants to go, too. Looking good for me to go home tomorrow. We've got to have some ramps for the porch and front door built asap. I have a carpenter friend that can do it.

    June 16th Spyder Ride

I'm looking forward to getting back into the saddle. Looks like mid September -- Bike, Blues, and Barbaque. Charlene and I would love to make our home the place for lunch on the ride to celebrate getting back on my feet. Chuck and I can work out a nice route. I'll most certainly be getting...
