• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2021 RT Limited - is this the latest Head Unit Firmware?

I have a 2021 RT Limited (SE6) and the following firmware installed in the head unit (picture attached):

BRP SW v710007226
GSS SW v050.21
HW Version: G07
CSS SW v050.21
BL SW vS50.21

Does anyone know if this is the latest and greatest firmware or of any place to check this? This should be a simple question. I have called the service department at the dealership, and guy did not know enough about it to answer. I called BRP, and they stated: "Since BRP stopped supporting updates for the 7.8" display after the 10.25" launch, whatever version you see here is the final one for your unit." In other words: "We don't know."

Any HELPFUL comments appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm sorry, I can't answer the question directly, as I don't know the latest versions for your Spyder.

My 2024 Spyder can be updated over a Wifi connection, which I've done using the Wifi network in my home, but that doesn't appear to be possible for your 2021.

I think the only way it could be updated, or checked to see if there are any updates available, would be by connecting it BUDS, which means taking it to a CAN-AM dealer to have them check.

Ok thanks. That will cost money though. I thought there should be an easy way to check this. I am so disappointed with BRP support. Awful.

I asked AI, and it said that 50.21 was the latest for the cluster. Because you have that already, I think that it’s safe to think, that at some point in its past, your bike was at a dealer and received all the latest updates, and that there is no reason to question the rest, as that would have been updated at the same time. In other words, if it ain’t broke…….

I have a Bluetooth issue I am still chasing down. I was told by BRP that the USB female on the bike is not for audio, but when I plug the phone into the female USB then I do not have audio issues. Strange. I would like to leave that USB free for other accessories.

No, you don't have a Bluetooth problem, and in this case, BRP is correct. It's a common misconception so don't feel bad. In a nutshell:

BRP CONNECT is the name given to the networking technology that they use to “connect” the phone to the bike. Hence the name.
BRP GO is the name of the App, that can be used to run other apps within, like navigation apps, for example.

That USB connection in front of you can ONLY be used for BRP CONNECT purposes in order to allow your phone to talk to the bike. In other words, you must pair the phone to the bike via Bluetooth AND also connect the phone to the bike via the USB connection, even if you are not using the BRP GO app. It's a networking thing. You have to do both to get audio. You CANNOT use that USB for other devices, no matter how bad you want to. It's all laid out in your operator's guide as well as some FAQ type of things on the BRP website. If you want to use other types of devices to bring in music or something, that's when you use the 3.5 mm plug and bring in that audio via the AUX input. Unless you need to use the bike's speakers, most folks with helmet systems just run the phone straight to the helmet and skip pairing to the bike entirely.

Thank you! Great explanation on this. I had a bit of trouble finding info on this in the manual when I was searching. Maybe I missed a few pages somehow.

I use to have a 2016 RTL and currently have a 2023 S2S and am able to play my music from my phone with no problems and not physically hooked to the Spyder. I have an Android phone and it was not stated if you are using an Android or IOS phone that you are having problems with.

Thanks for responding. I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max, but had the same issue with an iPhone 15 Pro Max. iOS version did not seem to matter. It did it with 18.7.1 and the newer 26.2 iOS. BRP made a big change to the head unit with the 10" screen. They must have fixed something. Regards.
