In early October I took my 2014 RT-S SE6 to my dealer as I thought that my drive belt needed retightening due to the whining noise that appeared to be coming from that area. My dealer. GVP checked the belts tightness and said it was fine, and then took it for a ride to hear the whine first hand. Upon further checking they determined that the noise was coming from a bearing. I knew that I was still under the 3 year warranty (2 year plus the 1 year promotion). It was good until the first week in November. After pulling all the tupperware off, they found that it wasn’t the bearing that drives the belt, and that it was the bearing in the gearbox. They could not get the bearing out of the gearbox as it had become welded in, so they ordered a new gearbox. Got that installed and all put together and took it for a test ride. Hmmm, still noisy and determined the drive shaft had become bent and as a result the belt had uneven wear, so they replaced both. I picked up the bike 2 weeks ago, and it cost me the promotion deductible which was less than $70.00 including tax. Thank you BRP and GVP for your great sevice.
