• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another tire thread…but different¿ New Kenda XPS Roadster Tires - more durable...

Ya so I was fooling around with a dealer's sight & in description area found:

“XPS Roadster Tires - More durable than before

The new XPS Roadster tires are twice as durable and provide a ride with good grip and comfort.”:dontknow:
It may be just a fluke on dealer or maybe BRP attempting rebranding. :dontknow: :dontknow:

Additionally, from the BRP site:

I can still see Kenda on sidewall.

BRP went with a softer tread some years back. Probably an attempt at better wet traction. But the tires wore very quickly and were not making customers happy. So they went back to the original compound. That's the only thing I can think of that they might be referencing here. Though the change was not a 2X improvement by any stretch.

Marketing can say whatever they want if no one is fact checking them. An OEM Kenda is still an OEM Kenda.

I noticed the same info on the Can am site but nothing on the Kenda site.

I'm guessing the marketing will be similar to the Kanine. It will be a BRP/Can Am product only for a couple of years before Kenda can market it on their own.

I seem to remember the new Spyder Canyon showing XPS Roadster tires.

A comment was also made about "longer lasting."

The jury is still out on whether or not the above will be true. Anyone got a Canyon yet? :spyder2:

The year was 2014. I got 8500 out of the "softer" rear tire. I was one of the "longer" tread wear people. Most people got around 4K on the rear. I noticed no glitches with the fronts, got the usual 20K.

The yellow Spyder in the pictures below. :spyder:

Ann Meyer told me the Kenda rear tire that was changed back to the harder, longer wearing rear tread was, I think, 28/14 (mfg week stamped on tire).

That was so long ago, it's hard to believe this is what is being referenced as 'New & Improved'. My how time flies!

Another thing I have noticed, the older we get, the more time flies by faster. Can't wait till I get even older. :roflblack:

I saw a You Tube commercial for the 2025 Lineup which mentioned "new XPS Roadster tires", no mention of Kenda brand.

When you look at the sidewall of these 'new' tires, they say Kenda XPS on them. If you look closely &/or manage to stop any of the promo vids in exactly the right spot, you can see the same... ;)

:dontknow: Kind of default to automatically seeing an “O” whenever seeing “P-*-S” :P.O.S ;)

Just talked to my parts guy at the my local dealer re: the XPS tires. They will supersede the the OEM Kenda part number of the current OEM tire come mid/late April, when they will become available to purchase thru Can Am Spyder dealers only. Not sure how much better they will be, but we'll see how 2025 owners will like them?

I have a two word comment. Vredestein x 2 and General X 1!
I do have car tires on my RT S2S. That said, 165/60R15's slightly rub inside my fenders. And, yes, I have shimmed my fenders and installed lower profile screws. I threw enough $$ for 165/60R's where I'm sticking with 165/55R15's. I should be able to get a couple more years out of my Achilles Economist's. Since Covid, Federal Formoza/Achilles tires are no longer imported.

After all of the problems in the past with Kenda tires, I would NEVER have another one on my Spyder!
Vredesteins are the only tires I will consider! In fact, I just had a Vredestein installed on the rear yesterday.
(Sorry Ron, you are 175 miles from me, the dealer in Taylorsville is 15 miles away!)

I've had two Spyders, I put Vredesteins on the front of both, swapping from Kendas, and the ride improved 100 percent on both! Looking forward to seeing the improvement with the Vredestien rear!

You never have to apologize to me. It's your ride. You do what works best. But if you ever are in the area, stop in and say hello!

I'm traveling 577 miles to "BajaRon's" to get my Spyder serviced. Most honest, trusted Spyder shop I know of. Lamonster and Spyderpops are also tops when it comes to working on Spyders.
