I am a newbie,I have a 2013 RT S. I need to find a place to mount a cane holder that I will make from PVC 2 inch pipe. I have no left leg so this is a must item for me. I have looked around this RT to find a place to mount it. I also ride 2 up so strapping it on the back seat will not work. Any suggestions out their?

Cane

My wife uses an adjustable cane for a bad knee. When she rides with me the cane can come apart into two pieces and fits in the front trunk. Have you considered a cane that comes apart?

You might want to take a look at my new Seal Golf Tote setup. It might be a bit of an overkill for a cane only, but I have been using it to carry my Walker on the back since my knee surgery. The Spline and Hitch Mount alone would be an easy way to mount a PVC pipe.

Not to "hijack" the thread, but the updated Seal website and new products look great. Wonderful job sir!

I have a folding cane that fits in the frunk when I am traveling. From what the OP mentioned, I am guessing that he is looking for something that is grabable once the ride is terminated. Sometimes, it's a lot of fun and games for me to make that long journey from the seat to the frunk to get the cane.

A idea to consider. A rear trunk rack and put the came sideways with or with a carrier. I have carried a soft "pack" of home made flag poles that way. The disassembled poles are the with of the saddlebags.
I usually ride solo so they go across the back of seat. Both cases held on with ROK and/or bungee cords.
3 American flag poles for PGRMissions.
Good luck and good riding.

You didn't indicate how long the cane is, but this suggestion might work.

Look at my recent post on the [temp] ramp ball mount. It uses a 2 1/2" exhaust clamp on the end of the handlebar and has 2 studs that are about 1 1/2" tall and 2 1/2" apart. I would think if you had a clamp on each end of the handlebars, you could lay your cane across the handlebars. The handlebars are probably wide enough and certainly strong enough to support the cane. It might stick out a bit to one side, but maybe not much. I think it will stay out of the way and be very handly to get on and off the bike. Just pad the top of the clamp tops so the cane isn't scratched up. You could use an elastic band (a big rubber band would work; use 2 on each end for redundancy) on the posts to hold the cane in place. You might also have to have something else to hold the curved part of the cane rotated away of the handlebar grip so it doesn't interfere with the controls.

Just a thought.

This is exactly the case. I lost my leg less than a year ago. Walking is tricky at best,I took my first steps less than two months ago.

Do they make a trunk rack? If so who?

How about a spring loaded broom holder the kind you buy at the hardware store to hang a broom on the wall. Maybe you can mount it somewhere and just snap your cane into it. They hold very tight really secure.

Consider Diamond R's

I have Diamond R's back trunk rack and I find it very useful for many things...check it out on Diamond R website under Spyder RT accessories...keep looking there is a solution and congratulations and ryde ryde ryde. Are you coming to Spyderfest 2014?

folding cane

I have a folding cane that I carry in the trunk. I find it easier to get to the rear trunk that to the Frunk.
